LOWELL -- The executive director of the New England Police Benevolent Association is condemning reports suggesting a link to the union after two people dressed as Ku Klux Klan members were photographed holding a sign supporting Donald Trump and the union.
Executive Director Jerry Flynn, a retired Lowell police officer, condemned the KKK and categorically denied that anyone from the hate group is associated with the union after photographs emerged from a Nevada caucus location Tuesday night showing two men in KKK robes holding a sign expressing support for Trump and the union.
"The New England Police Benevolent Association supports Trump! We support them," said a sign held by one of the men in Klan robes in a photograph that was widely shared on social media.
Flynn said in a letter that, as the largest law-enforcement labor organization in New England, the NEPBA has members that are as racially diverse as the United States itself, including married, single, gay, straight and even transgender members.

(10,749 posts)Read that NEPBA press release. The head of the group claims the organization is as diverse as America. How, then, could they support a man who is a bigot, a racist, a misogynist, and who seeks to be the hater-in-chief.
As for the KKK photo. It looks like it's accurate, even if it seems weird that it should turn up in Las Vegas. The NEPBA does support Trump, and, by extension, these two alleged KKK members support the NEPBA. The friend of my friend is my friend?? Hey, NEPBA, you lie down with Trump, you wake up covered in hate. It was your choice.
