Poll: Clinton crushes Trump among Hispanics

Donald Trump has often boasted that he would win with Hispanic voters in a general election.

Now comes some new data to test that dubious theory: Hillary Clinton is leading the 2016 presidential field among Hispanics, according to the results of a new poll of registered Hispanic voters out Thursday morning from Univision and The Washington Post.

The former secretary of state is the top choice of Hispanic voters overall — Democratic, Republican and independent — with 39 percent, with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders behind her at 19 percent.................

Among Hispanic Democrats, Clinton has a strong lead, 57 percent to Sanders’ 28 percent. But that number has gone down from 73 percent in June, when Sanders was at just 3 percent among Hispanics.
...........................

Altogether, three out of four Hispanics (74 percent) said that Trump’s views on immigration are offensive, while 23 percent said they are not.

Wow nice statistic, yet Bernie got a higher percentage of Hispanic votes in Nevada, go figure. n/t A Simple Game Feb 2016 #3
He had a higher % of Hispanic "voters" going IN to the caucuses (who hadn't voted yet)..... George II Feb 2016 #4
At best the evidence is iffy, and maybe Hillary got more but certainly not 2 to 1. n/t A Simple Game Feb 2016 #9
Point is that Sanders didn't get a higher % of Hispanic voters. Period. George II Feb 2016 #10

Perhaps - but she'll probably lose to Trump among almost everyone else. Not so with Bernie. forest444 Feb 2016 #6

just as I can find some for mine, but there are some out there if you care to look. I have looked so I know there are some for both points of view. As I said, it's iffy but nowhere near 2 to 1.

To vote for Trump, I mean hell they love the guy and can't wait to build that wall for him, then get deported.

Trump is so full of crap it's ridiculous. He has alienated Hispanics, Muslims, women, vets, not to mention the Pope. The only one left to vote for him in the GE would be the racists and the brain dead republican base, and I just don't think there are enough of them to get him elected.

Then Trump could get Reagan-esque numbers of whites and still lose.

Can you imagine what her numbers will look like once the Repig judges summon Hillary's people and Bitchy Mitchy gets the next big round of e-mail hearings rolling in September and October? That's the plan, after all.

I just hope it's enough to offset the independents, swing voters, and undecideds that will stampede toward Trump if Hillary's nominated - to say nothing of the GOP-leaning occasionals that will be motivated to vote just by knowing her name's on the ballot.

will be repulsed by everything Trump represents.

I hope his followers are a loud, horrid, but small (small enough to lose) representation of America.

We know that, unfortunately, many have been swayed by the 25-year media smear campaign against the Clintons (as well as their own many mistakes).

But it's a question of percentages: how many will let that sway their vote, and how many will not.

shows an inanimate metal rod at 82-18 over Trump.

But what really cracks me up is the RNC post-mortem after '12 where they pointed to the need to increase their Hispanic vote.

Good job.

Theories hold testable truths behind them, whereas hypothesis can be derived on anecdotal substantiating data. It is under the conditions of retesting the hypothesis and deriving the same conclusion, that it becomes a theory. That's why we say the theory of gravity or the theory of evolution or theory of plate tectonics. They can be soundly substantiated over and over again. Otherwise, we'd refer to these theories as hypotheses, which we don't.

Sorry for the definition rant.
