BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore prosecutors are investigating after a school police officer was caught on video hitting and kicking a young man inside a city school.

Baltimore City Public Schools released a statement saying their own officials are "vigorously investigating" the Tuesday incident at REACH Partnership School. In a cellphone video shot by a student, a school police officer can be seen slapping and kicking a young man while another officer stands by.

. . .

City schools CEO Dr. Gregory Thornton issued a statement calling the officer's behavior "completely unacceptable."

"I am completely appalled and disappointed by what is depicted in the video," he said.

And has been asked to leave the property several times. IMHO he has a girlfriend in that school, Or the cops know hes up to no good. Just guessing, Its a very big deal nowadays to keep only students in the school to avoid for instance if this kid were to hurt another student. I don't think they slapped him around because they were bored ,knowing theres cameras everywhere just frustrated this kid keeps sneaking in.

Who has seen dropouts sneak into school and hurt students, Sell drugs. Like I said Iam going on the little pieces of info that's been released. And yes, if this non-student was doing any of the above and was told over and over to stay out. Yeah a few open handed slaps and no arrest but stay out of this school.

"But Lauren Geisser, an attorney for the victim, says he is a 10th-grade student at REACH, and that she and her client tried to meet with the school's principal Wednesday but were told he was in a meeting. Geisser said the school provided a printout that listed his name on the school's roster."

Sounds like you are defending the wrong person here!

And later he claims new reports say the victim wasn't a student, yet failed to provide a citation.

He's in a desperate CYA mode right now.

Foster, the schools spokeswoman, said the young man in the video is not a student at REACH, but officials still don’t know his identity, including whether he’s a student at another school.

So either the spokeswoman is lying or the printout is lying.

Why would his name be on the list of enrolled students at the school?

That for no reason at all this officer would open hand slap him then kick him away for NOTHING. If iam wrong on his status as a student, Which a few news shows said at first he was not my apologies. Just have to wait for more solid info.

Even if he wasn't a student, it's still illegal to assault him to punish him for breaking the rules.

It's not IF, you ARE wrong.

And after vilifying the student in several posts, now you want to wait for more solid information?

You're a perfect example of what is wrong with this country when it comes to police brutality.

Why are you so eager to take the side of police?

You claim to want to wait for more information, yet you continue to post wrong information (you said it wasn't a student when it was) and have already passed judgement.

You're exactly what is wrong with this country when it comes to police brutality.

Not saying the officer is right for slapping the shit out of the boy, but considering how violent schools are getting nowadays; something definitely prompted the officer's actions.

A power trip most likely. The student might have made a comment to the cop and it set the cop off.

We've seen it over and over and over again. Like in the case of Sandra Bland.

regardless of the person's status - he could be a serial convicted paedophile for all I care - there are rules that public officials have to follow for a reason. This is not a police state. Far too many authoritarians on here.

So you're claiming the lawyer and school are both lying?

What really happened is that you got caught lying about the student and are now trying desperately to cover your ass.

If you got it from CNN then it should be easy for you to provide a citation to the story from their web site.

The fact that you haven't shows deceit and deception on your part.

And drop the tough guy act. No one is impressed.
