Sanders Campaign Blasts Nabisco Plan To Move Hundreds Of Chicago Jobs To Mexico
March 2, 2016 2:25 PM By Craig Dellimore

CHICAGO (CBS) — Two weeks ahead of the Illinois primary, plans to downsize the Nabisco plant in Chicago has drawn the attention of two presidential campaigns.

Workers at the Nabisco bakery at 7300 S. Kedzie Av. are fighting the parent company’s plan to lay off up to 600 of the plant’s 1,200 employees and move the jobs to Mexico.

Larry Cohen, a labor leader with the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign, said the Democrat stands with the Nabisco workers.

“Trade, and how we act and fight on trade is a major issue in this campaign,” he said.

production of Oreos to Mexico.

And I'll just bet that they would not have to be labeled as such...with all the shenanigans that Congress has pushed about no labels.

Really Nabisco? You couldn't price gouge enough so you move production so you can make even more money?

No Oreos for me ever again...and I'll be looking for that Nabisco label...to avoid.

You know it's tempting when you're waiting in the checkout and there's a bag of red velvet Oreos right there!

I was going to get them for my kids, who would have appreciated them, but I passed.

I noticed that the price of Oreos has dropped a bit. They've been on sale more than usual.

Perhaps people aren't buying as much, due to this move to Mexico?

Simple solution. If Nabisco(or any other company) wants to leave. Fine, be my guest. But you can't sell anything in the US for the next 50 years.
