Aide to Ala. governor resigns in wake of affair scandal
Source: USA Today
A top political aide to Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley is resigning a week after he apologized for making inappropriate remarks to her but denied the pair were engaged in an affair.
Rebekah Caldwell Mason said in a statement Wednesday that she is resigning as Bentleys senior policy analyst, the Montgomery Advertiser reports. The decision comes a week after Bentleys contrite news conference in which he apologized to his family and Masons for his behavior.
Mason said she would no longer be paid from the governor's political campaign or the Alabama Council for Excellent Government, a private entity created to support Bentley's policies.
"My only plans are to focus my full attention on my precious children and my husband who I love dearly," the statement said. "They are the most important people in my life. Thank you for your prayers for our family.

She is assuming there will be prayers. Why? Prayers for her to remember she HAS a family? Prayers that the voters don't care and will continue to support their hypocritical governor? Prayers that she doesn't get involved in a big scandal?? Self-serving bullshit.

"Pray for ...."
"I'll pray for y'all"
It's annoying but part of the lexicon.
