Cruz: Goldman Sachs supports 'just about everyone else but me'
Source: The Hill
Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz said Friday he wouldn't break up Goldman Sachs amid questions about his wife's involvement in the giant Wall Street financial firm.
"I don't believe the government should be targeting anybody," Cruz said in an hour-long appearance on CNBC's "Squawk Box." "But I'll tell you, if you're looking at who Goldman is supporting, it ain't me."
Cruz's wife, Heidi, has run Goldman Sachs' private wealth business in the Southwest, although she's on a leave of absence during the campaign. Cruz has taken heat for failing to disclose a loan from the company during his Senate run in 2012.
"Goldman is supporting Hillary Clinton big time and in the Republican field, they've been supporting just about everyone else but me," Cruz said Friday.

Ted's wife is a Goldman Sachs executive and his political career was kickstarted with a million dollar loan from Goldman Sachs, yet he claims that Goldman Sachs is supporting everyone else but him?

(1,000 posts)Cruz has some nerve making that assertion given the vital role Goldman funding played in making him a Senator.

Funny thing about Mr. Haney, though...he did teach me one thing: If I ever want to become a Senator, just run in an odd election in Texas in the middle of the summer.
