Trump opens Calif. rally with families of people killed by illegal immigrants

Source: The Hill

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump underscored his hard stance on illegal immigration during a rally Thursday night by bringing several people on stage whose family members had been killed by illegal immigrants.

"They're unbelievable, they've suffered," Trump said during a California rally before bringing them up on the stage. "These are great people."

Trump gave the mic to Jamiel Shaw, whose son was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant in 2008. Shaw has previously appeared in a campaign ad for Trump.

Shaw said he found out the man who shot his son was an "illegal alien on his third gun charge."

While the media focuses on the demonstrations and clashes, Trump is not exactly shying away from stirring up racial resentment even as he begins to campaign in California.

Which law do you think would have stopped a guy who illegally crossed the border and illegally obtained guns on 3 occasions before disregarding the law against murder?

I am 100% behind the brave protesters at Trump rallies, they are true patriots.
Trump must be stopped at all costs, civil disobedience is just one of the methods but it's important and we should all support the protesters. So far all of the violence we have seen has been the fault of Trump and the thugs who support him.

Why is it okay to use victims of police violence in a campaign but not victims of criminals that should not have been in the country in the first place?

This isn't about agreeing with Trumps views it's more about the victims that resulted as part of government policies

It's not about the victims. Don't you believe for one second that Trump cares about any of those people. They're nothing but props in his stage show extravaganzas, and he couldn't give a rat's ass about them. It doesn't matter who those victims are, they are exploitable and continue to be useful in feeding his ego. They are expendable, nothing more than interchangeable set decorations that he can trot out on stage for a photo op whenever he needs to feed his monstrous ego and get a cheap applause line out of his audience.

Like most adults, I'd be chagrined to reveal some of my sincerely held views from back in the day. Oh brother, I have changed so much that my old self wouldn't even recognize today's version. Not that any of this has any bearing on what has transpired, but no one is so rigid that they can't change their views to reflect what they've learned or be swayed by new attitudes.

Now, I can't help you find positive things on Trump's policies... just can't do it. You can understand that, I hope. However, if you were actually trying to find information about Hillary's views on a subject that seem critial to you, her policy stance is here:

Her advocacy of those policies killed the loved ones of the people she used as props for black votes

Her use of the families of victims is no different than Trump's use of the loved ones killed by illegals.....except Trump wasn't advocating for the policies that lead to the deaths.

Both are disgusting

This is a very smart political move.

His stance on Immigration has broad support in the Republican party, and is one of the main reasons he's been doing so well in the Southwest.

To top in off it's an issue that Cruz can't get the the right of him on.

But agree with you. He's telling his story. And he's drawing a very stark line between himself and whomever (Hillary) is going to be the Democratic nominee.
Getting his base fired up about a phantom enemy is what any politician would be doing right now. "This is a major threat to the country, and I'm the guy that's going to deal with it, unlike my esteemed opponent that would love to see your families murdered."

His mother was serving in Iraq, he was a star football player who was being scouted by large colleges, his killer was exactly the type of offender who should have been deported but was protected by sanctuary city policies. Don't ignore how powerful these words are to people who want to believe all undocumented people are criminals.
