Trump helps Chris Christie pay off his campaign debt
Source: AP Yahoo
The fundraiser, held at the National Guard Armory in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, had all the trappings of a typical Donald Trump rally: big flags, barricades to corral the press, a soundtrack filled with Elton John and the Rolling Stones. The only thing missing was Trump's usual overflow crowd. <snip>
Christie ended his presidential bid after a disappointing showing in New Hampshire and became one of Trump's highest-profile backers with a surprise endorsement in February. Trump has appointed Christie to chair his White House transition efforts and his name is often raised as a potential vice presidential pick.
Trump took the stage after Christie and announced that the event a $200-per-head fundraiser that attracted about 1,000 people had retired the bulk of Christie's roughly $250,000 presidential campaign debt. <snip>
The event also included a $25,000-per-person fundraiser for the state GOP to help it pay off about $500,000 incurred in legal fees responding to legislative subpoenas in the 2013 George Washington Bridge scandal. State party officials said they didn't immediately have a tally of how much either event had raised.

Paying off those embarrassing legal bills -- and yet the bridge scandal lingers on Christie like the smell of mothballs on an old suit.

(65 posts)Oh sure, it's only the Democrats that like their CRONIES, eh? NOT! Every story like these point to bribery, and buying votes seems to be a favorite play on the republiconz game book. Well, I remember trump from the start was trying to buy votes...seems like he's getting them. Not to mention trying to impress the low information voters, with his appearing in helicopters to give rides at county fairs. He's flying all over this country in his oh-so-special private plane. Doesn't that tell you he cares not at all about the climate? He has probably contributed to more pollution than some large corporations, just during this primary. He's ignorant and has NO class. For someone who has grown up in the elite circles, I gotta wonder why some manners haven't worn off on him. But I'm sure those born with a silver spoon believe they are above such trivial things as empathy or compassion. Isn't anybody else upset with these facts? And if you're not, why not?

Everything conservative happens in Lawrenceville area.
Tory ties predate the revolution? Always wondered what's
up with that. Many famous politicos hail from there. Two
Supreme Court Justices. Maybe it's an Alexander Hamilton
influence.

(3,426 posts)Ya right Oreos, disgusting ,a whole family size package couldn't satisfy a very small ant colony.iI hate Oreos almost as much as I hate being Trump's Bimbo. But hay, you got to do what you got to do right ? I mean that's the cost of doing business.
Do they actually believe Trump has ever eaten oreo cookies ever in his life ? Maybe they should put that question to Trump's x butler ,that is if he isn't in jail !
Anyway's I like real food.
Now for some real news:
Krispy Kream planning 6 stores in north Jersey.

Krispy Kreme, the Southern glazed doughnut legend, plans to open six stores in Hudson and Bergen counties over the next several years, according to company officials.
The doughnut chain has signed a development agreement with Entrepreneurs, LLC to open the six locations.
"Krispy Kreme is such a classic brand and we're excited to bring the best sweet treats and premium coffee to New Jersey," said Karl Halligan, one of three partners in Entrepreneurs, LLC, in a statement released by Krispy Kreme. "The fan base for Krispy Kreme products is already very strong in New Jersey, so we're thrilled to be adding to the excitement already surrounding the brand."
Krispy Kreme "is an iconic brand that provides an experience unlike any other," said Patricia Perry, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' Vice President, Global Franchise Development.
The specific locations of the new stores are not yet known.
Earlier this month, Krispy Kreme announced a merger agreement with JAB Beech. When the merger is complete, Krispy Kreme will be privately owned and will continue to be independently operated from Krispy Kreme's current headquarters in Winston-Salem, N.C.

(3,426 posts)Trump knows where Christie is weak and exploits his weakness as a part of his side show. Take for example that mock up televised town hall meet in North Carolina. The crowd is hailing Trump shouting Trump trump trump-Christie being Christie becomes somewhat annoyed because it just keeps going on and on. Several times Christie places the mic. up to his mouth to speak or begin the question/answer secession, but the crowd doesn't sit back and shut up ! At least three times Christie thinks he has an opening and each time he tries, he fails. Trump to toss a little mud in Christie's face joins in with the crowd hooting and howling trump trump trump ,and Christie, well,he just fell speechless.
You would wonder if the whole thing was scripted, but Christie is no actor, what you see is what it is and Trump knew and knows exactly how to exploit that. Trump has himself the perfect buffoon and he knows it and owns it.
And it will cost him, that's the surprise. Bridge gate surprised the nation, and there is more surprises like that in the Christie bill of goods.
And with all Trump's money,he doesn't really know what surprises can and will pop up and out from within that bill of goods like a ball and chain attached to Christie's leg . And Christie, he did not and does not believe his career ambitions in politics went down the flush.
You look at Trump now, and that is where Christie saw himself before his fall.
And Trump-he thinks he is unstoppable, so did Christie once upon a time.
