SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Indian Health Service and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid have reached an agreement to maintain a federal funding source for a government hospital in South Dakota found to have serious deficiencies.
An IHS spokeswoman tells the Argus Leader (http://argusne.ws/1TMo5pq ) that the agency's plan of correction for Sioux San Hospital in Rapid City was approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid on Friday.

Inspectors with the Centers, which administers the government's health care programs for the needy, disabled and elderly, found problems at Sioux San during an unannounced survey earlier this month.
It's the third IHS-run hospital in South Dakota to receive such a threat of losing its ability to bill the government for services provided to Medicare- and Medicaid-eligible patients this year.
