Sanders pledges to work against Trump after meeting Obama

Source: The Hill

Bernie Sanders said Thursday he would work to defeat presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in November, following a meeting with President Obama at the White House.

Sanders said he would speak with his rival, Hillary Clinton, about how to fight against Trump, but declined to endorse her or drop out of the presidential race.

“Needless to say, I am going to do everything in my power, and I will work as hard as I can to make sure Donald Trump does not become president of the United States,” the Vermont senator said.

Sanders said he phoned Clinton after Tuesday's primaries to congratulate her on her "strong campaign" and said they would speak soon about "how we can work together to defeat Donald Trump and to create a government that represents all of us and not just the one percent.”

Of course he gave his stump speech and that didn't bother me ( as a Hillary supporter). What was great was his anti-Trump stance, his praise of Obama and Biden, and how he was going to meet with Hillary and work together to beat Trump.

As did the military. Both do not want Trump. Racist elements within do but not the established order. He's too volatile and doesn't cooperate with a possibility of going full Caeser. We had our chance for a better world with Bernie but we blew it. We will just have to deal with the consequences. Many throughout the world will suffer worse than us. It's sad but reality now.

good ratings from it. If TPTB really wanted Trump to win they would be giving him money. They aren't. His campaign is going broke and while he said he would spend a billion of his own money, he won't because he doesn't have that kind of cash.

All democrats have a lot of hard work in front of them, now. We can't rely on Trump just falling apart. He's incredibly manipulative, and in addition to the media machine he helmed going into the primary, he now has the GOP machine (sort of) behind him (sometimes).

The GOP will be up to their usual tricks of misinformation, spreading doubt, spreading lies, purging voting rolls, etc... so it's vitally important that we don't let up or relax because "Trump will beat himself." It's far from a sure thing.

I'm super glad that Hillary came out swinging with ads against Trump right away. She has a lot of clout, and is an experienced campaigner. All she has to do is not let up. Take it to him, and we'll see that Trump has a lot of bluster, and a glass jaw.

That's what any good leader would do--in times of crisis, make sure everyone is on board.

I don't see a reason to mock him.

Edit to add--
Especially good, given the negative slams going around accusing Bernie of ego problem. Just clean up untrue rumors right away.

He said:

"Our campaign from day one has understood some very basic points and that is first, we will not allow right-wing Republicans to control our government.

And that is especially true with Donald Trump as the Republican candidate.

The American people, in my view, will never support a candidate whose major theme is bigotry…who insults Mexicans, who insults…

… who insults Muslims and women, and African-Americans. We will not allow Donald Trump to become president of the United States."

He also said:

"Tonight, I had a very kind call from President Obama, and I look forward to working with him to make sure that we move this country forward.

And tonight, I had a very gracious call from Secretary Clinton and congratulated her on her victories tonight. Our fight is to transform this country and to understand — and to understand that we are in this together.

To understand that all of what we believe is what the majority of the American people believe."

We've got this people. Calm down, lay off each other and focus on beating Trump.
