Donald Trump: That wasn't a Star of David, it was a sheriff's badge
Source: Dallas News
Donald Trump is using Twitter, the medium that landed him in hot water over the weekend, to defend his campaign's use of six-pointed star next to a photo of Hillary Clinton calling her "the most corrupt candidate ever!"
The Clinton campaign called the tweet "a blatantly anti-Semitic image" in a prepared statement released Monday.
Trump, in a tweet sent Monday, denied that the image featured a Star of David, saying it was a star in the shape of sheriff's badge.
"Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Dishonest media is trying their absolute best to depict a star in a tweet as the Star of David rather than a Sheriff's Star, or plain star!"

Of course, since Donald Trump actually copied the image from a white supremacist, it turns out that Trump is not only a racist, but he is an unoriginal, plagiarizing racist.

(2,902 posts)plus a sheriff badge is even more offensive considering how those police treat us. Trump as usual digs the hole even deeper with his lies.

Knowing Trump's white supremacist leanings, the Jewish tag on Hillary Clinton is a not-so-subtle slam, and the only thing that makes sense as to why it is in the ad.

You better pick one of your other boot-licking supporter's explanations and go with it and fire the guy who came up with the Sheriff's badge bullshit.

Actually when I look out into those crowds that come to see my show, I really have to have a good inner laugh because they look like pigeons to me in the moment. And so I say to myself, It's Feeding Time . I open my show with my famous line, we're going to build a wall, they eat it all up,I give it the big thumbs up and show is on a roll !
Stay tuned folks great entertainment ahead.

RENTON Donald Trump has apparently spent part of his July 4th weekend meeting with possible running mates at one of the private golf courses he owns in New Jersey.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, met with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster on Saturday.
The billionaire businessman and former Atlantic City casino magnate was expected to meet with U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa at the club Monday
Both Pence and Ernst are among a handful of Republicans Trump is reportedly considering to be his pick for vice president as he prepares to face presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in November's general election.
How likely is Christie to be Trump's running mate?
The Washington Post releases its latest rankings of potential Republican vice-presidential nominees.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich are also top choices, according to recent reports.
The New York Times reported Monday that Christie, Ernst, Gingrich, and Pence are all being vetted for the job.
Trump fueled further speculation about the search Monday by tweeting about his meetings with Pence and Ernst, while also praising U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, another person reportedly on the possible V.P. list.

In a statement issued by his Republican presidential campaign Monday evening, Trump suggested Clinton and her allies were using the matter to distract from her own recent campaign troubles.
<snip>
The now-deleted @FishBoneHead1 account that appears to have first posted the image featured a series of anti-Clinton memes as well as other provocative and offensive images. The image had also appeared on a white supremacist message board filled with anti-Semitic messages.
<snip>
Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, said Trump's attempt to dismiss the concerns of people who have taken issue with the post "falls somewhere between absurd and offensive."

(733 posts)Any retweeting of their tweets is encouraging them. His campaign should be vetting where the tweet is coming from. It doesn't matter if the tweet is apple pie and motherhood. Just by retweeting he is affirming approval of their ideals.

ALL sheriffs' badges actually say "Sheriff" on them, whatever else they may look like.
I particularly like this one above from my birth state. I would like to hope that this episode ultimately turns out to be Trump's Last Stand and that the result in November will be a Democratic sweep.
That is why I am working as hard as I can to get Hillary elected!

(135,425 posts)I do take your point, though--the "How can they beeeee that STOOOOOOPID?" question naturally arises!!!
Those dozen idiots on the debate stage with Trump HATED each other so much, were so damned CONVINCED that each one of them was "The One," that they couldn't suspend their hatred for even a moment and pile on Trump as a team and boot his ass out of their Grand Old Poop club. They should have done that EARLY on, not waited for the electorate to "come to their senses." Who of registered Republicans, really, has good sense?
Each one put THEMSELVES ahead of their political (cough) principles (cough) and figured that THEY would be "The Default" because Republicans have always put up with imperfect candidates in the past and they have rigidly, determinedly, enforced that good old "message discipline." They never thought, for a minute, that an "outsider" would make it that far.
Thing is, ever since Hastert left, and Crying Boehner got so stressed out having to be The Duty Asshole to the point that he quit, that "message discipline" has gotten harder to enforce with those guys. They're starting to fracture, and good thing.
Good news for us, though!
