Clinton Camp 'Pleased' With FBI Findings

Source: Talking Points Memo

A spokesman for Hillary Clinton's campaign said that it is pleased that FBI Director James Comney has recommended no criminal charge over the private email server she maintained as secretary of state and that it considered the matter resolved, according to NPR.

Brian Fallon, a spokesman for the Clinton campaign, released a statement saying that Clinton has long characterized her actions in using the private email servers as a mistake and that the campaign is happy that the matter is resolved.

"We are pleased that the career officials handling this case have determined that no further action by the Department is appropriate," the statement reads, according to NPR. "As the Secretary has long said, it was a mistake to use her personal email and she would not do it again," Fallon said. "We are glad that this matter is now resolved."

The news of the FBI's recommendation comes days after Clinton met with FBI investigators for three hours of questioning in the matter and on the day that she will make her first joint appearance this election with President Barack Obama.
