The press conference he did was outrageous with his editorializing. It was a wet kiss on Fox News' and the GOP's ass. And what does he get in return? Grilled by some backwoods preacher wannabe, Trey Gowdy, while the rest of the establishment drags his name through the mud.

You are wrong with your title as Comey didn't put anyone in their place. It was disappointing as you put my expectations so high and boy was I let down. He certainly didn't own Gowdy who should have answered why he has wasted so much money and time rehashing already investigated points and then leaking quotes out of context to demean Clinton on his political scandal seeking activities. His mouth was shut while Bush /Cheney did 100 times worse with deleting emails along with Rice who did the same thing but they want to make something out of Clinton's involvement.
Gowdy thinks no one can touch him and he is a verbal bully with a condescending approach who is protected by his box to act like an inquisitor. He deserves the name ubu He uses innuendo to smear Clinton and fact as pretense to justify such hearings. Comey did not put Gowdy and the rest of the GOP in their place by any means but his integrity the country remembers and so his judgment is well respected and that in itself puts Gowdy's hearings in its place.
