Black Man Was Just Found Hanging from a Tree in Atlanta

Source: U.S. Uncut

After a spate of police killings of black men this week, a possible hate crime has surfaced in Atlanta.

Early Thursday morning, a black man was found hanging from a tree in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. While police said the man’s death looked to be consistent with suicide, no official autopsy has been conducted. Social media is claiming that the young man’s death came on the heels of Ku Klux Klan members passing out recruitment flyers in the park just the day before, a claim that has not yet been verified, and expressed skepticism at the implication of a suicide without a full investigation.

1. Joe Nickell's narrative:
Thu Jul 7, 2016, 09:33 PM
Jul 2016

Joe Nickell is a well known investigator. He tells this narrative as a lesson in how things can go wrong.

Police are called to the scene of a shooting. A man lies dead in the middle of a room. A sergeant and a corporal arrive on the bloody scene.

The corporal says, "Sarge, this is horrible! We'd better get the forensic team here."

The sergeant looks for a few seconds and says, "Well, it looks to me like a clear case of suicide."

The corporal immediately objects. "But this man has been shot four times in the back!"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk!" Says the sergeant. "A very serious case of suicide. Just write it up like that."

Nickell's story has some lessons within.

The victim died of 46 hammer blows to the head and it was ruled a suicide.

I usually have to quit after about 3 or 4 hammer blows to my head.

Stone Mountain or rural area much more likely. Investigate it thoroughly though.

It looks impossible any one would want to give the racists in this country the satisfaction after all the evil they have committed already.

I'm certain this man did NOT lynch himself.

Thank you, OxQQme.

To see this in the year 2016 is appalling. What have we come to as a country for something like this to happen all over again today?

We The People if we are indeed The People must rise up against this act of barbarism and hate and tell these two-bit politicians that we do not care to stand for this wretched act and that they need to do something positive to create meaningful change of some sort so this never happens again. Will they do anything at all? What does it take? Does it take the election of tRump for people to wake-up to the horrors of this man's death?

How far have we really come since the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's if this sort of act is occurring today?

Appalled, disgusted, embarrassed for the USA, and also I offer my condolences to this man's family and friends.

Have We The People learned anything yet?

Perhaps not.

The city has already asked the FBI to look into it.
Why does everyone here instantly assume this to be a crime when there is zero evidence of it? HAnging is the #2 cause of death by suicide in the US. I've known 4 people myself over the last 15 yrs who've done it.
At least let the investigation START.

The Mayor wants a thorough investigation. A hanging could be suicide or homicide. If homicide, then a murderer(or murderers?) is on the loose in Atlanta. That question has to be eliminated.

Huge protest in Piedmont Park after shootings, hanging death: photos/video from the scene

Jennifer Brett
 July 7, 2016 | Filed in: Atlanta.

A huge crowd of protesters is forming in Piedmont Park following the police-involved shooting deaths of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota and the hanging death of a black man – ruled a suicide but referred to the FBI for further investigation – in Piedmont Park.
Protesters marched from the Five Points MARTA station downtown to Piedmont Park to express concern and outrage.

Here is a look at some images and video from the scene:

Nobody is going to just let himself be placed in such a situation against his will. There would be plenty of defensive wounds and signs on his body if this was the case.

who are armed, and who tell you if you resist they will also murder your family?

How is it in the photos of people who've been lynched, it doesn't usually appear they have put up a wild fight, anyway?

All is serene: the victim is dead, and the white people, even children, are standing around, passing time, maybe passing gas, having themselves a fine event, pointing, even snickering, or boldly cackling.

Fri Jul 8, 2016, 01:32 AM
Jul 2016

Social media is bullshit -- attention seekers who don't care what lies they tell or what passions they inflame.

Here is what Atlanta's mayor, Kasim Reed (who is black), told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (an actual legitimate news source):

"Everything we have seen suggests that there was no foul play involved, but I want to state clearly and unequivocally that we will not prejudge the situation,” Reed said. “APD will share all evidence discovered in the course of the investigation. We ask for the public’s support and cooperation as we work to resolve this matter.”

That sounds about right. This is unlikely to be anything more than a personal tragedy, but whatever the case, the sober and adult thing to do is to wait for the facts to come out ... and to ignore idiots on Twitter.

Sometimes the truth is the simplest explanation.

ATLANTA —
The Fulton County Medical Examiner has released the official cause of death for the man found hanging in Piedmont Park.

The report, obtained by Channel 2 Action News, states the official cause of death is asphyxiation by hanging, suicide is manner of death.
