Omaha Fire Battalion Chief Joseph Salcedo has been placed on paid administrative leave over Facebook posts, the Omaha Fire Department said Monday.
Salcedo shared potentially inappropriate content on his personal Facebook page, the fire department said in a press release. He is on leave pending completion of the investigation, officials said.
The matter was reviewed by Interim Fire Chief Dan Olsen, the Omaha Fire Departments internal affairs office and the City of Omahas human resources department, officials said.
Screen shots of what were purported to be the posts contained accusations against President Barack Obama and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The police contract here in Albuquerque also has a provision prohibiting a lot of bad/illegal acts by cops from being made public.

Personally I use Facebook to keep in touch with family and friends all over the world, and I share a lot of political thoughts for comment. Get into some very good discussions about science, current events and the election.

That's how it works. You try to avoid hurting those who are innocent until you can prove guilt. It means some bad things go unpunished. But the goal is to avoid punishing people for not doing anything. It was a truly innovative idea a few centuries ago in Britain. Hasn't caught on in much of the world, at least not yet, and it seems to be losing ground to "kill them all and let God sort them out."
