Military mom booed at Mike Pence rally in Nevada
Source: MSN/Reuters
Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence quieted a campaign rally crowd Thursday that booed a woman who asked how he can tolerate Donald Trump's disrespect of American servicemen.
After delivering a standard stump speech, Pence took audience questions at a room inside a Carson City, Nevada, casino.
The second question came from a woman who said her son serves in the U.S. Air Force. The mother asked about Trump's treatment of Muslim parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son, a decorated Army veteran, was killed in Iraq in 2004.
"Will there ever be a point in time when you're able to look Trump in the eye and tell him enough is enough?" the woman asked Pence, prompting boos from the crowd.

Amazing. In the end, the Republican party's foundation is built on racism and hate. I guess you could say that the insistence of Republican leaders on supporting Trump just means that they are in touch with the base of their party. However, there are times when the a leader needs to take a stand, and ignore the hate-filled base that they helped create.

(22,674 posts)You're dead on. Republicans or at least the ones I know, are thin skinned warriors for the military. They know very little to nothing about our arsenal of democracy. They only know talking points they've heard on RW M$M.
I'd have their back as an American if it came down to it, but I'd be worried they'd turn coat and run if it came down to them doing the same. Or worse, they'd feed on some RW talking point that told them their enemy was any democrat, ME, instead of the enemy coming towards us.
Weak minded individuals with flawed hypocritical values.

(4,292 posts)Hatred does not come to them naturally. It must be taught to them. Noose Corpse, AM talk-radio personalities and others have misshaped their small minds. As long as those putrid hate-mongers find it financially and emotionally rewarding, they will continue to swear allegiance to Dog and Gumtree, while pissing on those who don the uniform, pick up a weapon and stand a post, willing to sacrifice themselves for a greater good.

............After the question he asked the crowd to quiet down and said. Folks that's what freedom looks like and what freedom sounds like."
The Indiana governor went on to say "Let me just say first I want to honor your son's service to the country and your family's service to the country, I truly do."
He then talked about Trump and said that the businessman supports veterans like no other leader in my lifetime.
"The only other thing I would say to you is having spent time with our nominee, I have never been around someone more devoted to the armed forces of this country, more devoted to the families of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marine and coast guard and no one more devoted to the veterans in this country," Pence said. "Donald Trump supports our soldiers and supporters our veterans like no other leader in my lifetime.".......

(9,115 posts)while dRumpf campaign proxy Roger Stone simultaneously says Khan and his family are Muslim Brotherhood.
'Nobody cares about and supports our troops and vets like dRumpf', Pence says, in order to support the guy who badmouthed POWs, used a fake one member astro-turf group called 'Veterans for a Strong America' to skip out of a debate, and did everything he could to not donate one cent to that fake fundraiser for the vets, until WaPo caught him on it in late May. And who wants to privatize the VA.

Remember back in 2011 during a Republican debate, Army Capt. Stephen Hill, a gay U.S. soldier, was BOOED! by the audience after he asked about candidates' views on repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
Remember at that same debate a hypothetical question was posed to Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas).
