Trump endorses Paul Ryan
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN)Donald Trump endorsed House Speaker Paul Ryan on Friday, moving to mend an intra-party rift that has put the Republican presidential nominee at odds with its highest-ranking elected official.
Trump's endorsement of Ryan came at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
"We will have disagreements, but we will disagree as friends and never stop working together toward victory. And very importantly, toward real change," Trump said, reading off notes. "So in our shared mission, to make America great again, I support and endorse our speaker of the House, Paul Ryan."
. . .
"And while I'm at it, I hold in the highest esteem Sen. John McCain for his service to our country in uniform and in public office, and I fully support and endorse his re-election. I also fully support and endorse Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire," Trump added.

They call the Speaker Lyin' Ryan Rino because they think that Ryan "gave {Obama} everything he asked for".

(4,113 posts)How long will that last and we go back to Trump going off-script and offending everybody and retaliating against everyone who speaks ill of him?
It's hard for me to believe he can be kept in control with such a short leash for any significant amount of time.
Hopefully, it lasts until September 2nd.
That won't be possible at the debates. We will get the "unvarnished, unleashed" Donald. I need to stock up on popcorn!

(21,819 posts)Now he is collecting for his general election, reportedly 80 million in July, with an average donation of 61 bucks.
Trump wants his 55 mil back. Unfortunately for The Donald, the contributions are in the coffers of the GOP. He has to play ball if he wants his "self funding loan" back. If he plays this right, he will actually see a profit by billing the campaign for expenses such as his private jet, office space in his buildings for staff, adviser salaries for members of his family, hotel and resort fees, renting space for campaign events. He makes up the bills and conflates them to whatever he wants.
As for his millions of small dollar donors, well, fuck'em.
And after this is all over, he can make millions hawking his newest book and lecture series on how corrupt the political system is.

(14,337 posts)I view this as indicating the Orange Reality TV star has been talked to by the GOP Establishment about behaving Presidential. However, a barbarian cannot behave civilized for long. Trump riding the GOP pony into the ground is the best possible outcome. If he drops out, or the RNC replaces him, it raises the GOP's chances for the House and Senate.

The very first post is very negative:
Looks like Trump has done a 180 and is now main stream republican.
I and my wife will vote for him but that's it, no more money, no more work, no more anything but one vote each on November 8, 2016.
I am still not voting for Bruce Poliquin!

He won the primaries because he stood apart from the lifers.
He is now supporting the people he fought against.
Depressing.

IMO its not appropriate to endorse one republican over the other. But what he did was worse. He endorsed the problem.
Many of those who voted for him are becoming very disappointed and some are so disillusioned theyll stay home on election day. At the very least it will kill any momentum he had.
And McCain and the rest will continue to bash him.
I just cant allow myself to get too excited about all of this. Because I cant make myself believe in the system. Its way too corrupt. But I can always rationalize and say hes doing this because he knows hell need them once hes president.
