Trump cancels two more campaign events: report
Source: MSN/The Hill
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has reportedly canceled two of his upcoming campaign events.
The reports come after news surfaced Monday that the GOP nominee will be delaying a speech on immigration that was set for later this week amid new questions over his position on the issue.
Trump has canceled a Friday rally in Las Vegas scheduled at the South Point Hotel Casino and Spa, according to the Las Vegas Sun. His campaign didn't say why the event was canceled.
The Republican nominee has also canceled an Aug. 31 rally and fundraiser in Portland, Ore., according to Oregon Public Broadcasting. Trump reportedly canceled the event due to scheduling changes.

My take is that Trump's advisers are telling him to at least say for the purposes of the General election that he would continue President Obama's current actions on immigration and walk back his prior anti-immigration remarks, but the racist is having trouble even mouthing the words. His advisers are probably thinking, but you lie about everything else?
However, being a racist is Trump's whole brand.

(5,611 posts)I think the Trump campaign got a huge amount of blowback from Trump's racist base over this proposed speech. Trump's base wants to "build the wall" (as they shout at every rally), and they will desert him if he suddenly starts giving sane speeches about immigration. Kelly Anne, trying to craft the newer, "softer" Trump (lmfao) is going to find that his base will have no "softening" on the immigration issue. Hell Trump's first telly ad is all about the scawwy evil "illegals."

(5,732 posts)the only people who show up these days are the uneducated white males under 35 that support him, and their some of their wives.
The tooth to tattoo ratio at Donald's rallies is not improving.

Perhaps they've finally convinced him to focus on specific states for specific reasons...

As someone above said, it is more likely about money, but with Trump who knows.

(13,871 posts)If he walks back from the Wall and from Deport Them All, his original supporters are going to flip out. The immigration issue is what made his campaign. I think his latest advisors know they're screwed either way and can't decide what to do.
