One Ithaca College student was killed and another was injured after being stabbed during a "large fight" on the nearby Cornell University campus early Sunday in Ithaca, New York, officials from both schools said.
Cornell University Police were called to the intersection in front of Olin Hall, which houses Cornell's school of chemical and biomolecular engineering, just before 2 a.m. There, they found two men had been stabbed, according to a police news release.
Police say the fight broke out after a student-organized event at Cornell, according to a statement from Ithaca College.

A stabbing occurred earlier this month in Collegetown less than 2000 feet from Sundays incident, also during a large fight. Police said that victim was stabbed in the abdomen early on Aug. 7 during a dispute on the 400 block of Eddy Street and was flown to a regional trauma center with serious injuries.
Sundays homicide is the first in Ithaca since Francisco Santiago was shot on West Hill on Dec. 1, 2011. Gary Lowe, of Cortland, pleaded guilty earlier this month to second-degree manslaughter in that killing.
Authorities urged anyone with information about the crime to contact IPD at 607-272-3245 or Cornell Police at 607-255-1111.
