Judge: Citizens United must disclose donor information to NY

NEW YORK (AP) — A judge says a nonprofit conservative organization advocating for less government must reveal information about major donors to New York's attorney general if it wants to solicit money in the state.

Federal Judge Sidney Stein ruled Monday in Manhattan. Last year he refused to block Democratic Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (SHNEYE'-dur-muhn) from seeking the information from the Citizens United organization. His Monday decision was issued after he considered additional arguments and evidence.

New York requires every charitable organization to reveal its major donors before soliciting money in the state.

A Citizens United attorney says in a statement the organization is "quite disappointed" and is studying its appeal options.

I know it's Texas... Anyway, this is good news! Maybe a Supreme Court fully staffed by Hilary might put the brakes on Citizen United.
