Clinton, Trump appeal to workers, seek union vote on Labor Day

Source: Faux News

The final stretches of the 2016 White House race kicked off Monday with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump making traditional Labor Day appeals to workers and labor unions across the country’s industrial heartland.

“Let’s have a big round of applause for labor,” Democratic vice-presidential nominee Gov. Tim Kaine said at Pittsburgh’s annual Labor Day parade, sponsored by labor unions.

“We have to make sure labor is right there with us,” Kaine continued. “We’re going to involve labor in everything we do. … And nobody understands team work like organized labor.”

The Virginia governor was joined on stage later by Vice President Joe Biden.

only person Donald Trump supports is Donald Trump and you can bet that if he wins he will just throw them under the bus.

I hope our candidates become office holders, and most importantly, that they actually push those labor friendly policies they tout.

I have no illusions that Trump would be anything but a disaster for labor, but the Democratic Party has a bit of work to do, too. Joe Biden is great for this, and it looks like Tim Kaine will be, too. But the Repub alternative is all smoke and mirrors, and bullshit disguised as help. We can only hope that workers see through the thick film of bullshit and vote for Clinton/Kaine, who at least have the ideas in place to help labor.

As soon as a Rethug president is sworn in, the congress will pass a National Right To Work Law. Those pieces of shit have promised to do this. Doesn't get much media coverage, as far as I know.
