Sanders stumps for Clinton, slams Trump in N.H.

Source: MSN/Boston Globe

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- US Senator Bernie Sanders stumping for Hillary Clinton at a labor breakfast on Monday slammed presidential candidate Donald Trump as a “pathological liar” who has made bigotry a main tenet of his campaign.

The Vermont senator’s speech during an annual Labor Day breakfast for the New Hampshire AFL-CIO in Manchester, marks the first time after the Democratic National Convention that he has campaigned solo for the woman who was his main rival during the primaries.

But Sanders and other speakers -- including US Senator Jeanne Shaheen -- took a tack that has become familiar by now: piling on Trump as an anti-labor candidate who would bring ruin to the working class, and saying Clinton is the only way to stop him.

Now, watch the cable news coverage, and watch the news focus entirely on points of disagreement between Sanders and Clinton while ignoring any discussion by Bernie of Donald Trump. Indeed. if Sanders does not provide enough soundbites that can be spun against Hillary, the media will just ignore him entirely and focus on some alleged Sanders supporter who is planning on voting for Trump or a third party candidate.

Last I heard, Clinton had a fairly significant advantage in N.H.

...but there really are no such States. Sanders either won blue states or red states, but not many swing states like PA, FL, OH, NV or VA. If I were to have Sanders campaign for Hillary, I think I would focus on MI, NV, VT, NH and ME.
