Source: CNN

US swimmer Ryan Lochte will be suspended from his sport for 10 months and will not be allowed to participate in the 2017 world championships as a result of his involvement in a gas station incident in Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics, a person with knowledge of the situation told CNN contributor Christine Brennan on Wednesday.

Glad this is over. Our country has much bigger issues to deal with.

about how long Phelps was suspended? I am not defending Lochte, but Phelps risked killing people by driving drunk twice.

And he'll be missing out on the world championships, which is a very very big deal.

I fully agree that what Lochte did was stupid as hell - carrying on like a drunk frat boy, tearing down a poster and pissing in some bushes - definitely not the image our athletes need to put forward to the rest of the world..... HOWEVER, there was plenty of blame to go around. Since when is it ok for armed security guards to hold someone at gunpoint and demand cash before letting them go? And has anyone ever seen what was cut out of the surveillance video?
