The state director of the Trump-Pence campaign in Georgia resigned late Tuesday after accepting a plea bargain in a case where he was accused of vandalism, assault and trespassing, reports WSB.

Director Brandon Phillips stepped down after agreeing to a criminal trespassing charge after prosecutors dropped the battery and felony criminal damage charges.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department, Philips was arrested for destroying one person’s laptop and slashing another person’s tires.

Additionally Phillips was accused of causing, “visible bodily harm, to wit: cuts and bruises to the head and torso of Nicholas Dugger.”

(they say "is subject to 36-months probation&quot . Here's the news story the is their source:

Phillips, who until today oversaw the Republican presidential candidate's campaign efforts in Georgia, was arrested in 2008.
...
But before the case went to trial, these documents show Phillips agreed to plead guilty to the lesser charges of criminal trespassing and battery.

The court records show he was sentenced under first offender status to 36-months probation and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of more than $1,500.

Documents from a year later show Phillips applied for and was granted early release from the probation.

Which of course means that was all before he was appointed as Trump's Georgia director in 2015.
