Trump aide dismisses as 'quip' his threat to jail Clinton
Source: Philly Inquirer
On Monday, Trump's campaign manager backed off Trump's threat to throw Clinton in jail.
"That was a quip," Kellyanne Conway said on MSNBC's Morning Joe. And on Trump's threat to appoint a special prosecutor, Conway said only that the candidate was "channeling the frustration" of voters.

Ari Fleischer, White House press secretary under George W. Bush and a supporter of Trump, wrote: "Winning candidates don't threaten to put opponents in jail. Presidents don't threaten prosecution of individuals. Trump is wrong on this."

Of course, if it was a mistake, that does not explain why Trump tweeted the same threat after the debate:

Not only was it confirmation that he knows nothing about the law or the limits of the presidency (or doesn't care about such laws or limits)there is a bright line that separates the president from the DOJ, and he/she may NOT direct prosecutionsbut it shows the complete dictatorial, despotic, revengeful nature of the man. What's next, drone strikes against wayward journalists?

(2,674 posts)He said similar - that one of the first things he would do when he took office was to arrest Hillary. This was several weeks ago. I watched it on Cnn or MSnbc, don't remember which.
Did anyone else see this?

I've posted elsewhere that his entire debate performance last night was nothing but his rally speeches strung together in an incoherent fashion. Incoherent because the rally subjects that he spewed were not aligning to the friggin' debate questions that he was asked!!
When they asked him about Syria, he immediately started talking about Hillary and Mosul (Iraq). When they asked him about whether he paid taxes over the past 18 years, he immediately retorted with something like "Ask Sydney Blumenthal".

I also recall his proxies questioning whether the Khan family were terrorists or traitors.
Does anyone doubt that this Trump character already has a lengthy "enemies list" and that he would eagerly use his Presidential powers to persecute his critics?
