Priebus declares RNC standing behind Trump

Source: Politico

In an emergency call with members of the Republican National Committee, Chairman Reince Priebus declared that the party remained firmly behind Donald Trump, despite the tape of his lewd remarks about groping and making advances on married women.

“Over the last 24 to 48 hours there have been a lot of false rumors that we didn’t want to engage in,” Priebus told the 168 members of the RNC, many of whom have also stood behind Trump, according to a person on the call. “Nothing has changed in terms of our support for the nominee.”

Priebus told them that Trump had issued a “heartfelt” apology and that “I think the issue was taken care of at the debate.” Three people on the call verified Priebus’ remarks.

The Priebus call came hours after Speaker Paul Ryan held a conference call of his own for jittery House Republicans and declared that he would no longer defend Trump on the campaign trail, or ever campaign with him.

Once again Trump was able to make the back down, mostly because of the fear Trump votes won't vote for the down ticket candidates. Trump will take the whole party down with him, and those who keep staring behind him will be crushed also when he falls. I think it's great that no matter what they do they are going to lose.

I think every spare dime they have should be put to Trump's bid. Downticket races will take care of themselves.

Materials all over the country?

This whole "it's just words" argument: the Ms Conway, if words are without value or meaning in your view, we expect you, your candidate and all surrogates to stop using them immediately. You may continue to communicate non verbally.

The RNC is in a dark place now. Donnie threw the dogs a fistful of raw meat and now they don't respond to the whistle anymore.

They have all the money and the organization, but Hitlerkist has all the stupid and all the votes.

Even better, Trump is running a grand con on the GOP, soaking them for campaign money to pay back his loans to himself with interest, making them foot the bill for organization and the mythical "ground game," and using his campaign as a showcase for his profit-making ventures and as a launchpad for his media empire plans. Give him the money or he takes away the votes.

There is a song that keeps going in my head.

I do not remember the name of the song.

But a line of the song goes " Should I stay or should I go".
