Alabama pastor holds ‘whites only’ conference
Source: Yahoo.com (the lookout)
A controversial pastor's conference welcoming only "white Christians" is underway in Lamar County, Ala., upsetting residents of the nearby town of Winfield in the western part of the state.
Christian Identity Ministries is holding a three-day conference for so-called "white Christians" who contend they have been treated unfairly, the Rev. Mel Lewis told local TV station WSFA. Lewis, the organizer and keynote speaker, says they have the right, like any other Americans, to worship how they wish.
Ku Klux Klan flags and white supremacy slogans surround the conference, which will conclude with a cross being set on fire Friday night. Organizers say it's not a cross-burning, but rather sacred Christian cross lighting.
"We are not breaking any laws. We're not violating any ordinances. We're bringing the Word of God to people who want it, obviously, or they wouldn't be here," Lewis told the TV station.

(59 posts)when he says "we're not burning a cross, we're lighting it like you light ur house"
I guess they make crosses with built in lights so they can be "illuminated" Those crosses are
probably made in China anyway...
i hope the number of protesters will outnumber they attendees by hundreds or thousands...

"A sacred Christian cross lighting."
Funny, I don't remember that from church.
Interesting that if you google that particular phrase, you only get info on this story.
I guess it's not a traditional sacred Christian cross lighting - it's something new and modern!
I'm sure it will inspire nothing but spiritual awe, having left behind all of the other meanings involved when a bunch of white guys proclaiming white supremacy burn crosses.

(3,751 posts)The title makes it sound like this is some 'regular' pastor, thus generating more interest. It is a given that both CI and the Klan will be 'whites-only' in terms of invites, unless they have black separatists like radical splinters of the Nation of Islam or sheep-dipped so-called black power groups like the fraudulent New Black Panthers speaking.
don't forget adam west and clarence thomas, they would attend, happily.

(593 posts)....The idea started in 2005 with the rise of Islamist groups, but it had not been put to action since then, Michel Fahmi told Al Arabiya in a phone interview.
Fahmi explained that it was the victory of Muslim Brotherhood candidate presidential elections that necessitated taking steps towards creating the new Brotherhood.
It was then important to establish a body that can resist the Islamist tide.

(37 posts)Jesus, a Nazarine, living in the Palestine certainly had dark skin. He wouldn't be welcome at this confernece. Therefore, this pastor is by definition not a follower of Christ. This pastor is an idiot and so is anyone listening to him.
If these "white supremists" had their own country, they would all be dead in a generation.
...like 90% of those thumping their bibles do follow the teachings of Christ, though I do agree that the pastor is an idiot.
