Cut Ties to Donald Trump, Big Donors Urge R.N.C.

Source: NY Times

WASHINGTON — Several of the Republican Party’s most generous donors called on the Republican National Committee on Thursday to disavow Donald J. Trump, saying that allegations by multiple women that Mr. Trump had groped or made inappropriate sexual advances toward them threatened to inflict lasting damage on the party’s image.

“At some point, you have to look in the mirror and recognize that you cannot possibly justify support for Trump to your children — especially your daughters,” said David Humphreys, a Missouri business executive who contributed more than $2.5 million to Republicans from the 2012 campaign cycle through this spring.

Bruce Kovner, a New York investor and philanthropist who with his wife has given $2.7 million to Republicans over the same period, was just as blunt. “He is a dangerous demagogue completely unsuited to the responsibilities of a United States president,” Mr. Kovner wrote in an email, referring to Mr. Trump.

“Even for loyalists, there is a line beyond which the obvious moral failings of a candidate are impossible to disregard,” he wrote. “That line has been clearly breached.”

4. Of course. Before Trump, there was plausible deniability in the racism, sexism and xenophobia

Trump made all that disappear. The GOP needs to get all that back under the covers because they need to be able to mask their racism, sexism and xenophobia in nice language.

Unfortunately, you can't put the fart back into the elephant. . .and Trump is that fart!

5. I laugh out loud to see donors have 'buyers' remorse' en masse. They prove that they're no smarter

about the deep bench of non-lawyer know-nothings they've assembled over the last twelve years in DC and state houses as their "tools" than most of the rest of the 99%.

Now comes the unintended consequence of their money -- yet they probably STILL believe they can buy politicians to shape a country into the kind they can profit from.

It's the Trumpazoid -- in spite of all the expertise and knowledge his billions can buy -- who shows the rest of us how billions cannot buy character, judgment, decision making skills or vision; neither can leadership be learn-as-you-pay.

So now these donors realize how bad he makes them look as he threatens to lead people to ruin in a country and hemisphere mostly smarter than most rich people really are, anyway.

Look in the mirror, indeed, sirs!

The Trumpazoid taints you! It's too late to relocate your sense of honor and decency toward the people of the country that made you rich.

Try to learn in time for the next presidential election just how your interests are tied to those of everyone else.

Or get your money out of politics altogether.

What's not to love for the major donors. Looks like they will get the wars they crave no matter who is elected.

Big donors talk, people listen.

Here's hoping the RNC cuts ties and bails.

IF, my some crazy chance, this guy makes it into the White House, he is going to be meeting with MUCH MUCH MUCH opposition.
