Anti-Trump Group Files DOJ Complaint Against Comey For ‘Interfering in the Presidential Election’

Source: Mediaite

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump is, as you can guess, an organization dedicated to making sure Donald Trump is never elected to the presidency. If you head to their website — www.keepamericagreat.us — you’ll find a drop-down list of press releases along the site’s top shelf. Hover on that, scroll all the way down, and you’ll learn that today, DCAT filed a DOJ complaint against FBI director James Comey because of his super-vague letter about Hillary Clinton, her emails, and the probe that he’s not actually “reopening.”

We know now that a few emails are under review because they were found while the FBI investigated Anthony Weiner for his sexting. So, the emails were not withheld by Clinton, nor were they found while she was being investigated. They are simply part of another investigation and are being checked now for classification and other things that are much more mundane than Comey’s three paragraphs made it seem to many, especially in the media frenzy that followed the note’s release. That’s why DCAT is filing their complaint. Read what they said about it below:

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump filed a complaint with the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility on Friday against FBI Director James Comey for interfering in the Presidential election, following the FBI’s decision to open up an investigation into Secretary Clinton’s emails this close to Election Day. Federal employees are forbidden from participating in political activities under the Hatch Act.

Here is a quote from Scott Sworkin, who is DCAT’s senior advisor:

It is absolutely absurd that FBI Director Comey would support Donald Trump like this with only 11 days to go before the election. It is an obvious attack from a lifelong Republican who used to serve in the Bush White House, just to undermine her campaign. Comey needs to focus on stopping terrorists and protecting America, not investigating our soon to be President-Elect Hillary Clinton.

plus the government must give "permission" for any lawsuit against it to proceed. So this is more a big nothing-burger itself since it ain't happening and will be thrown out.

Sadly I caught the Toad salivating over this bullshit. He did however say it looked political, even though Comey 'would' do something political this close to the election.

I had to laugh.... Comey would absolutely do this as a political maneuver.

why these deep inside career bureaucrats even think they can get away
with these things in this age of real time information, cynicism, astute
political operatives on all sides - if it doesn't pass the smell test, it won't.

Comey should know better!

Most of the time email has a sender and receiver so if several thousand shows up to the other party in the email it is not new ones but the other half. More money wasted on nothing.

He also lacks the fortitude to do his job properly and not let right wing conspiracy nuts like Trump etc. lead him to do what he did today. Shame on him. He is not up to the job.

and kudos also to Mediaite.com

Maybe Attorney General Loretta Lynch should call Comey and ask him WTF?

Or, perhaps she should strongly suggest that he hold a press conference NOW....TODAY
and explain EXACTLY why that letter was sent to the Republicans leaders at this time.

Nothing short of a Comey press conference today will do.

If President Obama fires Comey now, it will look bad, but he CAN call him and TELL him to either issue another statement clarifying the letter he sent to the Repukes in Congress, or to hold a press conference today!

As Harry Truman said: "The buck stops here."

it would of course be the truth that only exists in my heart of hearts. In lieu of that, I would settle for some facts, even if I don't like them. Letting R's set the narrative at the beginning of a 72 hour news cycle is not a good thing.
Great question. To be honest, the truth has only ever set me free from things I did not want to lose.
