New polls show Trump's lead growing in Texas
Source: Dallas News
A pair of polls released Thursday indicated that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has expanded his lead in Texas with just five days to go.
A joint poll from NBC News, The Wall Street Journal and Marist College put Trump up over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton 49 percent to 40 percent among likely voters in Texas. Libertarian Gary Johnson garnered 6 percent in the poll, and 2 percent of respondents said they are voting for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
Trumps lead shrank to four points among the larger universe of registered voters in Texas, at 45 percent to 41 percent. But pollsters tend to attribute more precision to the likely voter tally, which takes into consideration whether the respondents say they are planning to vote or have in past elections.
Among those likely voters, 54 percent said they have already cast their ballots in early voting, and Trump led that group by 10 points, 52 percent to 42 percent.

Info on the two Pollsters:

Marist College is rated A by 538 with a R+0.7 bias.
If you are in Texas and wish to get involved with Get Out the Vote efforts to turn Texas blue, one starting point would be the Texas Democrats website:
http://act.txdemocrats.org/page/s/volunteer
There's information there on volunteering and how to get involved and how to contact people for more information!
Would DU-ers in Texas be able to provide any additional information on how to get involved locally? Thanks.

(18 posts)that was a long shot to begin with and I never bought into it. MSM sensationalized it and knew better. Way more concerned about our blue states,FL, and NC

(2,208 posts)Just like I did for the previous 3 Hillary surging polls. lol
It's silly to have to repeat that "type "poll" into google and see the NEWS results" constantly, but it calms down the worst of the detractors claiming its rigged.

(2 posts)Not sure why this was posted, as Texas was never a viable pick up. Also, wouldn't it be better to post more than one state poll and not focus on one, as one toll really doesn't tell us much? But an aggregate of one state's most recent polls would much more illustrative of trends, if any.

(1,254 posts)Only actual votes count. Monday night Former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, President Obama and First Lady Michele Obama will be live on stage in a rally at the birth place of our democracy, Philadelphia. It will be televised. Don't under estimate the last minute effect this will have on voter turn out Tuesday. VOTE!

(2,208 posts)The royal "we", or do you have a mouse in your pocket? lol
Pardon the attempt at humor.
Sorry, but other posters in the thread seemed interested enough to post and discuss it. To each their own, eh?
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

(2,208 posts)You don't have to be interested in every poll, you don't need to feel obligated to read posts about polls that seem irrelevant to you.
Shrug.
I am sorry this poll bored you. I have posted many others conducted in blue and battleground states, perhaps some of those are more your cup of tea.
Cheers.

(2,208 posts)Or after reading all the polls that came in showing Hillary is suring in the latest polls -- polls that I also posted, just as I posted this one.
You don't have to like all the polls' results, but impugning my motives just because a bad streak of polls came in one day is both rude an juvenile.
I post them as they show up in the NEWS results for googling on the word "poll".
Go read all the good Hillary polls I posted and perhaps see it in your heart to apologize.
Enjoy your morning.
