Fake Clinton campaign ads circulating on Twitter falsely tell supporters they can vote by text

Source: New York Daily News

No, you can’t phone it in on Election Day.

Pro-Trump trolls are circulating fake Clinton campaign ads on Twitter encouraging voters to skip the lines at polling sites on Nov. 8 and cast their ballot via text instead.

The shady social media accounts appear to have doctored ads for the Democratic candidate, altering their text to urge supporters to “Avoid the line. Vote from home.”

Voting by text is not a legitimate way to cast a ballot. The only way to vote is by mail with an absentee ballot or by physically showing up to a local polling place.

An archived page of the account shows that @The RickyVaugh frequently posts radical anti-Clinton tweets, including one that reads: “at what point do Trump supporters stop chanting #LockHerUp and start chanting @StringHerUp?”

The original ads, flagged by Twitter user Robert McNees, appear to have been removed but a spokesperson for Twitter said they do not violate the social media company’s rules or terms of service.

“We reviewed the content and determined that it was not in violation of the Twitter Rules,” read a statement sent to McNees and cited by a Twitter spokesperson when the News reached out for comment.

“We understand you might come across content on Twitter that you find offensive. Twitter users are free to post content provided that they don’t violate the Terms of Service or the Twitter Rules.".......................................

I've seen similar BS in previous elections ... it was the repubs. I recall a story about a college where the young repub club reserved all school vans and parked them somewhere off campus so that the Campus Democrats couldn't shuttle people to the polls to vote. It's ALWAYS repubs pulling this shit and it's clear that they need to suppress votes in order to survive.
