Trump: I could have won popular vote if I needed to

Source: BBC

With one state left to count, Mrs Clinton has nearly a million more votes than him but lost last week's election due to the electoral college system.

Mr Trump said on Sunday this system was unfair and he preferred a simple vote.

But on Tuesday he insisted he would have still won a straight vote because he would have focused more on the big states won by Mrs Clinton.

"I would have campaigned in N.Y. Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily" the president-elect said on Twitter. He lost New York and California.

just that he could turn out more of the right wing vote and/or depress the Democratic votes enough in those states to make up the difference.

at this point, i don't have a solid reason to doubt him.

damn near everything else, he's a lying con-man
but there's no doubt he and/or his campaign staff read the American electorate like a fast food menu
he's a consummate salesman, there is no doubt in my mind that he could convince another 2 million rubes across our "great" nation to jump on his racist bandwagon.
i only hope the Democratic party leadership, such as it is, isn't astounded by this idea.

He knew he couldn't win so he didn't spend resources there or New York. He is saying he could have made up the difference of the popular vote going for more votes in states he couldn't win.

I held my nose and read a lot about him.
Even as a toddler he was ploughing right into people. Had so many problems in school, and made so many enemies, that his father sent him to a military school.

the grandiosity, braggadocio, extreme narcissism was evident from a most early age. Now he has had 70 years to have it set in cement.

"The wind was horrible today. Really interfered with my play. But, of course, it was just as windy on the other side of the net."

Did Trump think that HRC wouldn't have campaigned in NY or Cal, etc., if there were no electoral college? Did it occur to him that maybe turnout would be much higher in the big blue states if we had no electoral college, compared to this year, which would favor Dems?

I remember a lot of (now proven to be false) bravado statement made by DUers about his chances in Michigan and Pennsylvania. It would serve us well to stop drinking so much of our own kool-aid and deal with the world the way it is instead of the way we want it to be.

In the end, there is no way to know. But to simply dismiss his statements about the election, after he proved to be a better candidate than our own, does not do us any good. Well, it may make us feel better in the short term. Cold comfort indeed.

I'm not just saying it, Donny, like some people, many many people are saying. Believe me, I believe you. You could've done it "even bigger" if you wanted to.

Sarcasm off

Donny just can't stand being second. He sounds like a first grader. SAD! I wonder how he will react to his approval polls being way below Obama's in six months?

The New York Times seems to set him off. I guess I can't afford to run a large ad there to tweak him.

He could have won the popular vote if he needed to. In other words, he could have told those who hacked the election to give him not just the presidency, but the popular vote, as well.

I'm really starting to believe that he stole this election.
