Reporter to Obama: Are you worried about being the last Democratic president?

Source: Business Insider

President Barack Obama told reporters Sunday that he's not worried about being the last Democratic president — "not even for a while."

But the president, speaking to reporters at an economic cooperation summit in Lima, did acknowledge the Democratic Party has some soul-searching to do.

"I am not worried about being the last Democratic president … not even for a while," Obama said during a press conference. "And I say that not being cute — the Democratic nominee won the popular vote, and obviously this is an extremely competitive race, and I would expect that future races will be competitive."

Earlier this year, when a Donald Trump victory still seemed a long shot, former President George W. Bush said he feared he would be the last Republican president. The comments prompted a Fox News reporter to ask Obama on Sunday if he felt the same way about his party, now that the tables have turned and that Republicans control all three branches of the federal government, nearly two-thirds of state legislatures, and more than 30 governorships.

They'd still need 3/4 of states to ratify any amendment proposed by a convention.

So we're not there yet.

Republican President.
What is wrong with the press?
If it isn't obvious that the GOP fucks up the economy EVERY time they fill the Presidential seat (let alone this time President/House/Senate), then these guys need to sit down and look at things more closely.
I'm more concerned we are going spiral into a depression with Trump at the helm and GOP controlling both houses—after they privatize and destroy SS and medicare.
Why isn't the press talking about these things?

Knowing what I know about public ed "reform" and welfare "reform," only Democrats would get away with that shit.

The GOP pulling this would literally end their party overnight.

Donald Trump is a man tortured by his own narcissistic personality disorder. He has no ideology beyond what he feels like whatever feels good to him in the moment. This whole Donald Trump being President thing has yet to play out and I don't think its going to play out well for the country and/or the Republican party.

Trump changes positions from one day to the next. He has no actual values. He just goes with whatever. The GOP knows this. A reckoning is a' comin', it will just be a matter of time before it boils over.

now Romney (a-hole #2) is going to, or has met with Trump and will probably be the Secretary of State.
The GOP is walking carefully, but they are slowly joining in behind him.

Not only what you mentioned, but how do we know that our own FBI or DOJ during a tRump administration won't try interfering AGAIN during the 2018 mid-terms and again during another GE in 2020? AND if that interference weren't enough, how do we know that WikiLeaks won't play a part in our elections by passing bogus emails hacked from DNC headquarters again? Wouldn't shock me one bit if Russia were to get involved in our elections again like they did this time. Who'd investigate them? Certainly not Putin's bestie tRump whose wedded to Russia and who owes it's Oligarchs big $$$ which WILL be payed back during his presidency. As for the media, know not to look to the media whose been in the tank for years where it concerns the GOP and really in the tank for someone whose such a liar and whose as incompetent, unintelligent, grifting and sexually assaulting as tRump. We have very few folks in the print/television media who will call out the GOP and tRump--very few.

I know many were contemplating the fate of the GOP very recently, but this time things are different because the GOP has not only stolen the White House, but they control the Senate and have gained in the Congress and will have complete control of the trajectory of the Supreme Court to the far right of the for a generation if not longer.

We as Dems are in for God knows WHAT these next few years and beyond under this tRump/GOP reign.
