Ashley Parker joins The Posts Politics staff
Source: The Washington Post
Announcement from National Editor Scott Wilson and Senior Politics Editor Steven Ginsberg:
We are very excited to announce that Ashley Parker, who has been covering the campaign of Donald Trump for The New York Times, will be joining our White House team.
Ashley is a seasoned political reporter whose work we have long admired. Her stories are filled with sharp observations and behind-the-scenes reporting, and they are always delivered in her engaging, masterful writing style. Ashley also has a deep understanding of the ways of Washington that will be critical to covering the Trump administration.
Ashley has worked for The Times her entire career, starting right out of college 11 years ago as Maureen Dowds research assistant. She went on to become a reporter for the Metro section, before covering Mitt Romneys 2012 presidential campaign, Congress and, in succession, Jeb Bush and Donald Trumps campaigns during the 2016 race.
She has written for The New York Times Magazine, as well as the New York Sun, Glamour, Chicago Magazine, the Huffington Post and Washingtonian. Her photos have appeared in Vanity Fair.
Ashley is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and grew up in Bethesda, where she began honing her craft on the Black&White at Walt Whitman High School.
Please join us in welcoming her to The Washington Post. Her first day will be Jan. 3.
