A D.C. police officer who worked as a motorcycle escort for White House officials and other dignitaries was moved to administrative duty Wednesday after he allegedly was overheard making threatening comments toward Michelle Obama, according to several police officials.
The police departments Internal Affairs Division is investigating the alleged comments and notified the U.S. Secret Service Wednesday, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to give details of the investigation.
The motorman allegedly made the comments Wednesday morning as several officers from the Special Operations Division discussed threats against President Obama. It was not immediately clear where the alleged conversation took place or exactly how many officers took part in the conversation.
During that conversation, the officials said, the officer allegedly said he would shoot the First Lady and then used his phone to retrieve a picture of the firearm he said he would use. It was not immediately clear what type of firearm was allegedly shown.

(2,500 posts)I mean, haven't police escorts shown a propensity of wanting to show First Ladies through the years. That's the first thing that comes to mind, isn't it? Sheeez. Pathetic. Yeah, there's more info available. Stick your head out of your shell and get a whiff of it sometime.

(69 posts)I've said this over and over. I truly believe that over 50% of all Union Policemen
are out and out racists. They let social issues such as abortion, entitlement rhetoric and
crime, guide their political and moral judgment. I really believe that this guy is not
a loan wolf, there are many more like him.
Lets see how their union leader K. Baumann responds
Instead of wrapping themselves with republican right wing rhetoric, Police Unions better
wake the fuck up and recognize the fact that Republicans are out to destroy their lives by
Replacing them with $12.00 an hr. security guard types. I would almost enjoy the
day that these guys receive their pink slips from republican governors, while at the
same time destroying their benefits and pensions.
The majority of police in my mind do a hell of a great job and are entitled to best
of benefits but to the ones who align themselves with right wing nut republicans I say this, You better wake up, turn off fox and learn who your real enemy is.
It sure isn"t the Obamas.

(18,652 posts)that 50% are racists! I won't back down on that.
Union Leaders need to stop protecting Roque cops and start educating
their rank and file. Again, right wing economic doctrine dictates that
Unions ( all of them) need to be eliminated.
I'm asking cops to turn off fox! Start to learn who your real enemy is and
it ain't Michelle.

Anyone who is assigned to protect the President of the United States, and his family, must be vetted and if there is any racist or otherwise violent background they must be immediately released from duty and go work for minimum wage somewhere."

This is negative and alarmist and overly dramatic, but I feel it in my bones that they're going to try it, probably after the convention. There is too much money in this now. Someone is going to try to protect his investment.
That's all the evidence I have, and it should be all that anyone needs.

that this made it through the Blue Wall, and was reported.
I wonder how often this type of thing happens and it doesn't get reported to officials.

(1,701 posts)Hilary Clinton was a lightning rod for virulent hatred when she was First Lady, but she was involved in important policy decisions--particularly health care. Michelle's initiatives seem to me to be unexceptionable: she supports veterans and their families, she promotes physical fitness and healthy meals--particularly for children-- and she encourages organic gardening. In addition, she is highly intelligent, well educated, beautiful, elegant, classy, warm and kind, and obviously a good wife and mother. What's not to like???

(60,010 posts)not only is it alive and well, but what I find particularly sinister is that overt racism is not limited to a few crackpots on the fringes.
