Trump Promises a Revelation on Hacking

Source: NY Times

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — President-elect Donald J. Trump, expressing lingering skepticism about intelligence assessments of Russian interference in the election, said on Saturday evening that he knew “things that other people don’t know” about the hacking, and that the information would be revealed “on Tuesday or Wednesday.”

Speaking to a handful of reporters outside his Palm Beach, Fla., club, Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump cast his declarations of doubt as an effort to seek the truth.

“I just want them to be sure because it’s a pretty serious charge,” Mr. Trump said of the intelligence agencies. “If you look at the weapons of mass destruction, that was a disaster, and they were wrong,” he added, referring to intelligence cited by the George W. Bush administration to support its march to war in 2003. “So I want them to be sure,” the president-elect said. “I think it’s unfair if they don’t know.”

He added: “And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove. So it could be somebody else. And I also know things that other people don’t know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation.”

I detest this crap. I'm so over and done with it. I can't imagine it going on for another month, let alone a few years. I can't imagine the general public, or the media, or his mentally diminutive supporters, or sold-their-soul-to-the-devil repukes putting up with this bait-and-switch, bait-and-switch, bait-and-switch for much longer. It's so appallingly transparent, plus it shows he has the intellectual capacity of a 5-year-old and the emotional restraint of a three-year-old.

I may have to just put on blinders and avoid all news regarding our national drumfster fire in order to stay sane.

A next door neighbor brought in a monitor and they put on the New York celebration via the internet (I'm guessing through their cable tv login).
After a while, I noticed there were some Obama bashing segments that ran between the New York celebration and the commercials. And soon there was Trump praise, as well.

In one of these in-between-segments, while they were spewing their bullshit, they had a footer announcing Trump's latest Tweet.
God help us all if a great number people seriously watch Fox News: it was so sappy and overtly full of bull shit.

Several of us eventually complained and they changed stations.

There's no reason for the networks to send any more stenographers than that. It's going to be a one-hour infomercial for his hotel, with maybe ten seconds of denial about the hacking. The networks can run that ten seconds on the "news."

Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, while everyone is distracted and looking elsewhere, the real damage will be underway.

Also, the "information" spread by the Bush administration on Iraq is only vaguely related to the information provided them by the CIA.

Mon Jan 2, 2017, 05:11 PM
Jan 2017

Yes I know Trump is a pathological liar but his statements are of course NOT being criticized by the media or anyone in politics (of course). His comments border on treason! Trump said that he "knows things" that nobody else knows -- which means that he WITHHELD/IS WITHHOLDING INFORMATION FROM US INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES ABOUT RUSSIAN HACKING in the presidential election. This means he was in some way aware of the fact that Russian hacking occurred, and that hacked info was being illegally procured and deployed by a foreign gov and its agents, yet he has not shared this information with intelligence agencies. Isn't this actually a crime?!

Even if Trump states that he "knows" the Russians didn't do all or some of the hacking because...they told him so -- he withheld this info from US intelligence agencies?!!! Even if Trump is wildly exaggerating (or whatever) he is demonstrating that he will keep info secret from our own country's agencies in order to protect himself and to protect a FOREIGN POWER.

And this man is going to take the oath of office in a little more than two weeks. A man who is making statements and behaving in a manner that looks rather like treason -- the constant, unflagging support for Putin, his pre-emptive dismissal of our intelligence agencies, and now his statement that he "knows" secret info about the Russian hacking that our intelligence agencies do not know.
