Trump's Incoming Press Secretary Questions Whether Obama's Russia Sanctions Are Out of 'Proportion

President-elect Donald Trump's incoming White House press secretary questioned whether President Obamas actions against Russia for an alleged cyberattack on Democratic political organizations may be out of "proportion."
"I think one of the questions that we have is, 'Why the magnitude of this?' I mean you look at 35 people being expelled, two sites being closed down, the question is, is that response in proportion to the actions taken?" incoming White House press secretary and communications director Sean Spicer said in an exclusive interview on "This Week.

Spicer's comments are in sharp contrast to the response of some Republican congressional leaders, including House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who called the sanctions long overdue or an initial step.
Ryan, for example, said in a statement Thursday, "While todays action by the administration is overdue, it is an appropriate way to end eight years of failed policy with Russia." ....................

When it comes to which perceived-strongest irrational authority they worship, they can have no doubt, no second guessing. Anyone else can be made a scapegoat and they'll buy it hook line and sinker. Otherwise, well...they'd have to question themselves and their choices.

(58,785 posts)as well as various Russian oligarchs, perhaps Spicer's responding to THE REST OF THE SANCTIONS, the ones that can't be announced publicly. After all, they're designed to cause real pain to Putin's circle, which means Trump's associates in Russia.
