Trump sides with Assange on Russia hacking
01/04/17 08:05 AM EST
President-elect Donald Trump is seemingly taking the word of Julian Assange over that of the U.S. intelligence community, writing on Twitter that the WikiLeaks founder said it was not the Russians who gave him the leaked emails from the Democratic National Committee and other prominent political officials.
Julian Assange said a 14 year old could have hacked Podesta - why was DNC so careless? Also said Russians did not give him the info! Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday morning. That post replaced an earlier one with similar language in which Assanges name was misspelled.
Minutes later, Trump cited a Twitter post from Fox News in which Assange is quoted as labeling American media coverage as "very dishonest." The president-elect added his own commentary, writing that media coverage in the U.S. is "more dishonest than anyone knows."
He followed that tweet with another series that renewed criticism of both the DNC and the media.
Somebody hacked the DNC but why did they not have 'hacking defense' like the RNC has and why have they not responded to the terrible things they did and said (like giving the questions to the debate to H), he tweeted. A total double standard! Media, as usual, gave them a pass.................................

@realDonaldTrump the agents at the CIA, FBI, and more risk their lives every day to keep us safe. Show a modicum of respect.

@realDonaldTrump even when FBI director Comey behaved extremely inappropriately and handed you the election, Obama & Hillary showed respect

@realDonaldTrump I understand that you relate to Assange as someone also accused of multiple sexual assaults, but he isn't a credible source

(58,785 posts)the kind of fake news they craved. Seemingly the weaning process hasn't begun, and may never as long as he keeps it flowing. As we're seeing on both the right and the fringe left, hatred can become an addiction.

(58,785 posts)give those revelations the scrutiny I should have back in those days, although my sources were never Wikileaks/Assange himself. Bush and Cheney have committed many real crimes, but I reject all lies about them and anyone else, and Wikileaks is now a permanently drastically discredited source. Assange is clearly sociopathic, and of course the Kremlin always was.

A U.S. soldier imprisoned for leaking documents to WikiLeaks broke her silence in a fiery editorial accusing the United States of lying about Iraq.
Chelsea Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison in 2013 for leaking 750,000 pages of classified documents to the anti-secrecy group.
At the time, Manning went by the first name Bradley, but later announced the desire to live as a woman and be known as Chelsea.
Manning has stayed out of the limelight since the conviction, which spared the former intelligence analyst from the most serious charge of aiding the enemy.
But she was back Saturday, with an opinion piece titled 'The Fog Machine of War" in The New York Times. In it, she accuses the U.S. media of looking the other way when chaos and corruption reigned in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"As Iraq erupts in civil war and America again contemplates intervention, that unfinished business should give new urgency to the question of how the United States military controlled the media coverage of its long involvement there and in Afghanistan," Manning wrote.

(58,785 posts)mental dysfunction. Chuck Schumer said our intelligence services are becoming very angry at Trump's insults and lies about them, and that this is very unwise because they can cause trouble for him "6 ways from Sunday."
I wanted to hear some examples, not forthcoming, but of course the Kremlin's are not the only intelligence services who can give information directly to the media and other power centers, only in America's case truth would be the dangerous weapon deployed.

Trump just tweeted about Assange then deleted it -- very likely because autocorrect changed "Assange" to "Assuage"

@BraddJaffy Profound lack of judgement in Tweeting at all, multiplied by the fact he doesn't proofread. "Oops, didn't mean to start a war!"

(86,650 posts)so maybe the Russians didn't directly hand this info to Assange the rapist, maybe the new SOS, Tillerson, handed him this info... how's that for speculation?
It's such a fetid mess with this clan of fascists, I bet it actually is a conspiracy that is more than just theory.
