Voters should not expect to see any changes to their health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act for two years after the law is repealed, a senior official on Donald Trump’s White House transition team said Thursday.

"Immediately, what we're saying, is we're not going to pull the rug out from under anyone. There's not going to be any changes in 2017. There's not going to be changes in 2018," Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY), the transition team’s congressional liaison, said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

"Those products have already been approved by the state insurance agencies, or for the 2018 time, are in negotiation right now," he went on, saying new plans won’t be available until “2019 or later.”

According to Collins, the repeal vote that the GOP-controlled Congress still plans to hold “quickly” is expected to affect provisions like Obamacare-related taxes, the individual coverage mandate and the mandate that companies with 50 employees or more have to provide workers with affordable insurance. There would be “absolutely no changes whatsoever” to the insurance plans held by individual Americans, he said.

of risk avoidance. They can deal with the idea that Obamacare is here to stay, and that they need to figure out how to make it work for them. What they can't deal with is uncertainty about the future. All that will do is cause them to pull back now to avoid being caught in a possible catastrophy later.

Looks like the R plan is to force most insurers to drop out of the exchanges by creating uncertainty. The Rs will then say, "don't blame us. It was the insurance companies who brought down Obamacare."

A stand alone bill to repeal Obamacare would require 60 votes to cloture the filibuster in the Senate, and the GOP doesn’t have a super majority. So, they’re planning on using a parliamentarian procedure called “reconciliation”, which can’t be filibustered. The only problem is that reconciliation only works on budget bills. So, repealing the ACA would have to be woven into the budget bill, and only the parts of the ACA that deal with federal budget matters could be included to repeal, not the whole damn thing.'

If R's repeal ACA, the insurance companies will leave in droves and it will probably be worthless and could die an early death. They will have destroyed it, and their plan is to say it failed, oh well. D's need to shout from the rooftops that repeal will destroy healthcare now, in real time. So the destruction of healthcare is on the R's, not the D's. It won't wait then conveniently stop in 2 years when something else (HA!) is available. R's are nothing but snakes in the grass, just waiting to bite the uninformed and poor.
