US spy chiefs promise 'Putin hack' motive

Source: bbc

US intelligence officials have promised to release the Russian government's "motivation" behind their alleged cyber interference in the US election.

Asked by a congressman if they "will ascribe a motivation to Putin", General James Clapper replied "yes, we will ascribe motivation".

Intelligence agencies say the Kremlin ordered the hack of Democratic emails.

Russia has denied involvement but the US has announced sanctions against Russian officials.

Top US intelligence officials are giving testimony to the Senate committee investigating the alleged interference.

In their assessment, Moscow interfered to help Republican Donald Trump win against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

In joint testimony prepared for the hearing, officials said Russia had an advanced cyber programme that posed a major threat to a wide range of US interests.

"Russia is a full-scope cyber actor that poses a major threat to US government, military, diplomatic, commercial and critical infrastructure," the testimony said.

It was written by James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, Marcel Lettre, Undersecretary of Defense for intelligence, and Admiral Michael Rogers, director of the National Security Agency.

A report on foreign meddling in US elections was given to President Barack Obama on Thursday.

Even Putin knows that have Trump as POTUS and Republicans in charge of all three branches of government is very destabilizing and bad for America. Not hard to figure out how much they will rape our country and screw the rest of us. Then we must fight back splintering the country, what a mess!

Do you really think this rethug congress will really investigate this in a honest manner?

Pre-empt national tv and radio and lay out the evidence without a media filter. This was really a terrorist act on the democracy of our country by a foreign country. And the POS is complicit.

Obama will say as much in his farewell speech. I hope he spills the beans. I have been having a recurring dream in which there is a major upheaval about this around the 17th-19th totally disrupting the swearing in of either chump or pence... It is a dream that comes around every night and has for a couple weeks now. Usually when these kind of dreams happen, it turns that much of what the indicate comes to pass.

I just can't believe he is going to be ok with thump destroying our country. It is time for a constitutional crisis to stop this cretin and his Russian minions.

5. Infowars, Breitbart, Daily Caller sorta silent on this. So far.

When I googled terms and included "Daily Caller" I found a report that James Clapper wouldn't say Russia's hacking was an act of war, that it wasn't the intelligence services' role to define that. Opening that site and others the way most of their readers would, I found nothing. Again, so far.

Reuters: Intelligence chief Clapper had not encountered 'more aggressive or direct campaign to interfere in election' than Russia 2016 activity

other countries.

Our Congress failed the American people. Clapper said instead of 'oversight' Congress was 'micromanaging'. Probably members of our own Congress digging for Clinton email information, instead of paying attention to Russia's hacking.

They have managed to bring about extreme doubt to the US (and soon places like Germany's upcoming elections) We have our intelligence agencies essentially in a war against the president-elect. We have republicans seemingly defending Russia and Trump despite these connections. Does that mean Trump can be removed? If so, how so? Then what? If that does happen and it's shown that there is massive collusion, does that make the elections null and void? Or would we just end up with Pence in the White House?

Either way, what happens to the foaming at the mouth Trump supporters who are not only easily manipulated by sophisticated propaganda but also heavily armed and motivated? That situation there can easily be exploited by external and internal groups.

I'm seriously worried about this. Hopefully, I'm justing being overly dramatic and doomy gloomy. God damn Trump is a problem either way.
