Nancy Pelosi Mocks 'Insecure' Trump For Voter Fraud Investigation: 'I Felt Sorry For Him'

Source: Mediaite

Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi tut-tutted President Donald Trump‘s planned investigation into whether millions voted illegally in the 2016 election Wednesday, chalking it up to his own insecurity.

“For a person who is a newly elected president of the United States to be so insecure as to declare… ‘I’ve won the popular vote, three to five million Americans voted illegally,’ to suggest and undermine the integrity of our voting system is really strange,” she told reporters at her weekly press conference.

Pelosi pointed out that Trump’s own lawyers argued that there was no significant voter fraud when contesting Jill Stein‘s failed recount. She also noted that Trump’s investigation comes after he fought tooth and nail against recognizing Russian interference in the election.

“I frankly feel very sad about the president making this claim. I felt sorry for him,” Pelosi said. “I even prayed for him, but then I prayed for the United States of America.”

investigation into our systemic election system problems that are fraudulently keeping Dems out of office. It's easy to mock him, harder to do what *really* needs to be done, desperately!

The Democrats have no power to investigate (other than journalists, I'm speaking about congress specifically) so mocking is a weapon that has proven to work against bullies of all stripes.

... a few are out there talking about it (e.g., Elijah Cummings) and if we get enough publicity on that issue we could possibly gin up public ire enough to make the Rs uncomfortble being on record as opposing such an investigation. Playing the schoolyard mocking games keeps attention on tRump's issue, and lunacy, which are far less important (in this singular instance) than investigating the deeper fraud in our electoral system.

He is also an idiot, of course, and should get whipped by everyone for his inane bloviating.

that requires a REAL investigation into voter suppression but that really has nothing to do with what I'm talking about when dealing SPECIFICALLY with donnie. The secretary of state in OH has already come out against this (says it's not necessary) and that IMMEDIATELY made me suspicious.

...mock him unmercifully, AND demand a broad investigation that looks at ALL potential and claimed voter fraud and intimidation. trump's claims, stein's claims, the claims about Russian interference, voter intimidation and impediments raised to prevent legitimate voters from voting. If we started screaming this from the rooftops "I agree with the President, we need a bi-partisan, broad, thorough investigation into our voting system!" I think the republicans would panic and stuff a sock into Donald's mouth.

Wed Jan 25, 2017, 03:41 PM
Jan 2017

It was the persistence of questions to Spicer about why they weren't investigating this "massive" fraud that kicked off this latest convulsion. Now the reporters can pester him about why the "fraud" is only being investigated in "big" states since basically 70k voters were the ones who got him the EC win. Who knows, maybe he can even be goaded into calling a new election to prove how much of a "winner" he is.

The secy of state in OH has already says this is unnecessary and my radar immediately came alive. The cons are hiding something in their states about voter suppression and we need to shout about it every day, all day. But when it comes specifically to donnie, only mocking and ridicule.

It's obvious that trump is trying to cram through as many damaging measures as possible in the shortest amount of time---his people know those midterms are coming, just like we do. If Pelosi wants to offer up prayers, let her pray for our representative form of democracy, which has never been more endangered than it is, right now.

We need to ruin his enjoyment every single weekend. And whenever he goes to NYC, there should be tens of thousands of us screaming at the base of his "lair."
