Trumps Companies Are Already Violating Their Own Ethics Pledge

WASHINGTON ― The cost of a membership to President Donald Trumps Mar-A-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, has doubled from $100,000 to $200,000 since he won the election, CNBC reported Wednesday ― raising new questions about whether Trumps businesses are profiting from his presidency.
Trump has referred to the estate as his Winter White House, and its safe to assume he will vacation there as president.
The membership fee hike had been in the works for some time, sources told CNBC. But even so, the decision to double the fees is difficult to square with the Trump Organizations pledge to avoid any actions that even could be perceived as exploiting the office of the presidency.

How much of the BS will the GOP take before the Dems make they speak publicly on whether they think it is a good idea for Trump to keep his ownership stake and not worrying about conflicts-of-interest?

(13,614 posts)As long as trump signs everything that's put in front of him (all pre-approved by the heritage foundation and ALEC,) the GOP will protect him. Plus, with gerrymandering, voter suppression and a new DOJ committed to preserving and strengthening both, the GOP will keep the House forever.
