This morning, President Donald Trump took to his Twitter account to deliver a few messages. He commented on the number of refugees who have come into the US since his travel ban was put on hold. The president also called the Japanese prime minister and his wife a wonderful couple.
But that wasnt all he had to say.
With it being reported that the estimated cost of building a wall along the Mexican border is now $21.6 billion, the president explained that this is only because he hasnt started negotiating the costs yet.

(10,279 posts)line-drawn-in-the-sand, Americans and Mexicans will be conned out of their money for a product that doesn't work. But, as usually in #45's swindles, TrumpCo will make a huge amount of money.

(2,902 posts)When, for example, my vote here in Washington state has been thrown in the trash every election since Nov 2008, we all know for a fact there are major voting fraud problems, but of course Republicans never attack real problems.
Edited to add link to proof:

Every single damn election I voted in since 2008 had my vote thrown in the trash.

(16,104 posts)the best way to bring down cost is to "employ"...
Maybe his supporters misunderstood what he was saying.
Mexicans aren't going to pay for it, they are going to get paid for it!

(129,376 posts)Any "negotiations" that he claims to do would be against the law. As much as they keep trying to make it into one, the U.S. government is not a private business.

(18,640 posts)The president shouldn't have time to attend daily meetings to hammer out details of trade pacts, military contracts, or civil projects. Such negotiations can run for weeks or even months and require a dedicated staff of skilled mediators.
Maybe this moran thinks he can breeze in, shoot an offer they can't refuse, and fly out in time for lunch. Wrong movie, Donald.

(4,402 posts)except that the largest military on earth is being commanded by a man who thinks his job is to micromanage building contracts for insane vanity projects instead of attending intelligence briefings and getting his ass down to the situation room when American lives are on the line.

(18,640 posts)The largest military on Earth belongs to China. They have as many soldiers as we have people. That's why, despite Trump's blustering, we stop short of forcing the country to succumb to our wishes.

He won't get the money from Congress is my guess.

(67 posts)Donnie Peepee will reduce the costs of the fence project in his normal business practices way. He will have contracts signed, the work done, then refuse to pay the businesses that do the work and up the money upfront to their employees. That's how he does business. He refused to pay for the work that has been performed. He's a fraud, liar and a cheat.
His other option is to just make the fence Shorter, by walling off all of Texas and giving it back to Mexico.
