GOP Former NH AG: Claims Of Illegal Voting Are 'Not Connected To Reality'

The former attorney general of New Hampshire, Republican Tom Rath, on Monday knocked down the White House's claims of voter fraud in the 2016 election.

President Donald Trump reportedly made the claim to senators on Thursday that thousands of illegal voters in New Hampshire had lost both him the state and former Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) her re-election. On Sunday, White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller argued the claim on Sunday shows, saying that the phenomenon of busing voters into the state is widely known by anyone who's worked in New Hampshire politics.

Well, I think if you're going to make allegations of wrongdoing particularly about something like an election that goes to the core of our democracy, you have an obligation to be truthful and forthright and have a factual basis for the allegations you're making, Rath said in an interview on CNN Monday.

In this case, the comments I saw From Mr. Miller yesterday are not connected to reality," he said. "They did not happen. I think people should start talking about it unless they have a factual basis. That did not happen. People were not bussed in here illegally to vote. That did not happen.

and there is no way that this happened. Your name has to be on the voter rolls - they ask you your name and address and ask to see your ID. It is ridiculous to think bus loads of people could waltz into any polling place in the U.S. and cast a ballot.

Plus, in the more than 200 smaller towns and voting places, the odds are good that some at the polls knows you personally.

All of that said, my bet is that republican operative Tom Seth, quoted in the article, voted for 45. So you own it, tom. He may be crazy, but he's yours.

I have been voting here for almost forty years. They still check everything, signature, and the like. They do it right. But they don't have to ask me for my name.

If you cannot show proof of residence, you sign an affidavit under pains/penalties of perjury. Also have same day registration which really fries republicans.

The repukes are frantic in their effort to suppress the vote. They will keep screaming about fraud and how something needs to be done to fix the problem all while carving away voting rights. With what they have in store for the country it's the only way they can keep control.

i.e. that anyone other than non-mediterranean/semitic white folks are not entitled to vote and are, by definition, stealing a vote when they do cast one.

Maybe there will be a mysterious voter called vladimir that shows up 100k times on the roles.. Or maybe they'll find the reason Democrats didn't show up was because their votes were purged.
