Warren blasts Labor nominee Puzder as business groups, protesters mobilize

Source: St Louis Post-Dispatch

“Mr. Puzder has seen, firsthand, the impact of burdensome regulations promulgated by the previous administration,” the letter reads. “Being a respected, proven leader in an industry that represents approximately 10 percent of the workforce gives him a unique set of qualifications.”

Puzder’s confirmation hearing has been delayed repeatedly while he completes his financial disclosures. Democrats worry that the committee vetting Puzder will repeat the process it used for Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, in which senators’ questioning was limited to five minutes.

In St. Louis, about 100 opponents of Puzder’s nomination marched in front of Hardee’s headquarters Monday afternoon around lunchtime. Hardee’s has been based in downtown St. Louis for years but is in the process of moving its headquarters to Nashville, Tenn., where its parent company CKE is consolidating office space.

Participants in Monday’s protest carried signs with Puzder’s photo and the phrases “wage thief” and “tax cheat.”

I was present at the St. Louis protest with colleagues from Stand Up KC, the organization fighting for the rights of low-wage workers, like those Mr. Puzder steals wages from. I understand that there were similar protests happening in 48 cities around the country.

told to sit in the parking lot when business was slow so they were off the clock. Others who's time card was changes to avoid paying OT. In addition to smashing his nomination, I was to see the FEDS go after him for wage & hour violations!

I sincerely hope I get the honor of not just voting for you in 2020, but seeing you become president. I honestly think that you were the last honest politician.

OH what an unraveling web we weave, Trumpkins!

Mr. "for the little guy" nominated a guy who thinks automation's the bee's knees . . . and Trump's army of dumbasses aren't going to be the ones creating or repairing their robot replacements, because they're just not all that bright.
