Gretchen Carlson reportedly in talks to join MSNBC, would be third ex-Fox News anchor to head to NBC

Third times a charm?
Former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson, who settled a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against former Fox News chief Roger Ailes last year, is reportedly in talks to join MSNBC, Business Insider writes.
Carlson wouldnt be the first to join the left-leaning cable news network, after Greta Van Susteren made the same move earlier this year.
Business Insider cites sources familiar with the matter and writes that Carlsons deal had not yet been finalized, but was nearing completion.

But that afternoon show of hers was a clunker. She was always smart and incisively analytical so I wonder if it was the producers. "We The Tweebles" as a segment?

(4,117 posts)Rachel M. I guess that's enough to call the whole brand left-leaning.
I have no tv of my own. I loved when I could watch Free Speech. There is no better journalist than Thom Hartmann and I suggest DUers donate to Free Speech sending love AND money to Thom. We need REAL journalists like Thom. But having no TV, renting rooms from a man who watches sports 99% of the time except for when I have to use the kitchen and then he'll turn it to MSNBC or CNN (he doesn't pay for access to Thom), you can't imagine how much I appreciate watching on something besides my laptop. At least I have some idea of what's going on. I like watching Joe and Mika turn on Trump (don't think I have come to like them, but I like that one tiny aspect).
I made some trades in order to run for office, which I suggest DUer do in droves. Some things happened (deaths) that denied me the choices I had before. I love that Fox is losing folks and I actually look forward to their transition, if I get to see it.

(4,117 posts)On Both links, I get an error when I search for Thom-could just be a glitchy morning. I'll try later. he's all I really care to watch since my landlord lets me watch the MSNBC & CNN bits in the morning that are important to me. I get the gist when I'm living in town....but oh, to get Thom would be a dream come true. I am one of those poor-ish folks living in a small town, but going out to my land which I rarely get NPR, no tv, only some local radio right-wing stations, but our Chair of Dem party who is also a City Commissioner is on once a week for an hour, is on it.

Really?
About all they have left as "left" is Rachael & Lawrence, and Joy & Al (on weekends).
Tweety is not "left" but is a windvane-prone disaster and Chris is too wimpy and lets people run all over him so he's useless.
MSNBC's "ratings" problem is not the need to go with RW lunatic hosts. It's the need to get the channel available in more markets and locations - at least as many as Faux and CNN is in. I.e., if you travel around the U.S. and stay in a hotel, chances are close to 100% that MSNBC is NOT one of the channels in the hotel's available lineup.
