GOP Senators Say House Health Bill Wont Pass Without Changes
Source: WSJ
WASHINGTONRepublican senators, alarmed by a nonpartisan report showing millions would lose insurance under the GOP health-care plan, warned Tuesday that the bill wouldnt become law without fundamental changes.
At least a dozen Republican senators, including some who had previously kept a low profile in the health debate, made clear they had concerns over the bills policy proposals, complicating House leaders hopes that the bills momentum would overpower internal GOP infighting over legislative details.
Flashpoints included the potential loss of insurance coverage, changes to Medicaid, the trajectory of premium prices and the bills impact on costs paid by older, low-income and rural Americans.

On Tuesday, the White House sought to discredit the reports projections as unreliable, while Republican senators said they would push for an array of changes, including more assistance for older and low-income people to buy health insurance.

(4,149 posts)because the Republicans there want bigger subsidies and no messing with the Medicaid expansion. At the same time, can't pass the House because the right flank of the GOP there wants to destroy Medicaid and thinks the insurance subsidies are too generous. The Dems better not provide one lousy vote for the GOP bill. If the Repubs want it, let them do it themselves.

(26,319 posts)healthcare bill is like Obama told the Repugnants which is he would be glad to sign a bill they passed if it was better than Obamacare and what the Repugnants are trying to force down our countries throats isnt better and in fact it would make things even worse than before Obamacare was ever passed.
