Source: New York Daily News
Turns out there was a wiretap at Trump Tower after all just not the way President Trump has said.
The FBI had a court-sanctioned warrant for two years to monitor a Russian crime organization working out of a unit three floors below President Trumps penthouse, according to an ABC News report.

(32,641 posts)... but they must have gotten phone conversations of Trump talking to them.
If Trump hadn't been talking to them he wouldn't have been recorded on the wiretap.
IDK maybe he just called and told them the rent was due.

(22,651 posts)bet they don't pay the $24,000k a month rent those 5th Avenue full floor apartments cost.
25 years ago one of my friends lived on 5th Avenue, NYC in a tiny apartment, not trump tower.

(36,470 posts)in order to smoke out the Russian infiltration. I like to think that's the case, too, that someone is actually doing something about the impostor in the White House, otherwise, the next republican president will get 95% of the popular vote & 100% of the electoral vote.

(36,470 posts)She thinks the FBI is infiltrated & somehow Trump is connected & the FBI is using him to find the moles & purge them. I think that if we don't get this impostor out of the WH before 2020, our elections could go the way of dictatorships, where the president wins with huge, impossible percentages. You still get to vote, but the winner is always the same. I vacillate between thinking there's something deep going on behind the scenes & eventually they will take him down, to thinking that we are going to have him for eight frickin' years.

(7,723 posts)I agree with you that the longer he stays in office, the more damage he will do and the harder he will be to remove. Scary times.

(90,708 posts)Holding public office is nothing like private life. The people, and the media, demand a level of openness that can be devastating.
Look at Tillerson -- never in his entire career at Exxon has he been publicly called to account for his actions, and now he is severely annoyed. The Donald has spent his entire career courting publicity, but that is nothing like running for office, much less holding office.
This country is not yet so far gone that no one will care or dare to question our politicians. These bastards want to demolish our institutions for a reason -- but we may be saved by said institutions yet.
