Arnold Schwarzenegger Mocks President Trump's Approval Ratings
Source: Time
Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday mocked President Donald Trump's low approval ratings and challenged him to go to a Washington D.C. middle school to see after-school programs in action, after they were placed on the chopping block in the President's proposed budget.
"Oh, Donald, the ratings are in, and you got swamped," Schwarzenegger said in a video Tuesday. "Wow. Now you're in the thirties?"
"But what do you expect?" he added. "I mean, when you take away after-school programs from children and Meals on Wheels from the poor people, that's not what you call 'making America great again.'"
The video is the latest addition to an ongoing feud between the two men

(4,835 posts)That's about it. If I remember correctly he was called the 'gropenator' or some such nonsense when he was governor.
He's just an attention whore too. I liked him in the last terminator film, but otherwise he has my permission to just fade into obscurity.

(6,931 posts)He would have NEVER agreed to do a show attached to Trumps name to begin with. This BS reminds me of All Star wrestling where a "plot" is developed.

(36,440 posts)Love him, or hate him, or whatever, but everyone should support his national nonpartisan redistricting reform campaign.
Gerrymandering, in which congressional districts are unfairly drawn to give advantage to one party or group in an election, is often criticized as a contributor to the current level of polarization and gridlock on Capitol Hill, although some say the evidence for that isn't as strong as commonly believed.
Schwarzenegger and others have called for independent commissions to handle redistricting instead of state legislature, which they say would bring about more competitive elections.
Several states have seen robust legal challenges in recent years over their redistricting processes. The latest: Texas, where a panel of federal judges ruled on Friday that the state's redistricting plan illegally discriminated against minority voters.

Crappy governor, not so nice a person either, but these strange times seem to lead to strange alliances.

(14,887 posts)operating after school programs in California. We operate 3 after school and 2 pre-school child care centers. Parents pay on a sliding scale. In most of our families both parents work because rents are burdensome in this area. The working parents know their children are safe and secure at our centers.
When schwartzengroper was governor, his budgets cut education year after year. Our budget was cut by 30%. We struggled and even looked into requirements if we had to close. We were able to keep health insurance for our staff but we could not give them raises while he was governor.
We survived. But it has taken us nearly 8 years to climb out from under the bus.
Don't want to hear this hypocrite inviting anyone to visit an after school program. What a jerk!

(90,708 posts)He's smarter than The Donald. He is more talented in diverse areas, and he's been in government.
Now, I did not vote for the Governator, and I was not pleased to have him as my Gov. But look at the list I made of some of his qualities. Tinyhands has none of these attributes. The only thing they have in common is self-promotion.
I think it is hilarious that Schwartzenegger decided to go after Trump and goad him. How long before Trump starts obsessively tweeting? How long before he talks about it in public and won't let go?
Eventually Trump will blow in public. Too many things are coming at him for him to continue to have control of the narrative. Too much. Let Ahnold be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
