Kremlin says US intelligence committee is "confused"

Source: Associated Press

MOSCOW — Mar 21, 2017, 6:46 AM ET

A Kremlin spokesman has said a U.S. intelligence committee is "confused" after it heard testimony from FBI Director James Comey about an investigation into the Russian ties of President Donald Trump's associates.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Tuesday that "the hearing participants are confused about the situation," adding: "They are trying to find confirmation of their own conclusions but can't find either proof or confirmation and are going round in circles."

Comey confirmed for the first time Monday to the House committee the existence of an ongoing counterintelligence probe into links between advisers to Trump and Russian officials.

The Kremlin has dismissed claims from U.S. intelligence agencies that President Vladimir Putin authorized a campaign to influence the U.S. presidential election last year in favor of Trump.

The Russian government is employing a tactic in psychological warfare with this release.

These are well-conceived plans and tactics that really have no power once they are exposed as psychological weapons. The value of psychological warfare is that tactics are means to an end, and the tactics require deception. But the deception can only work by psychological sleight of hand. Once this release, for instance, is widely interpreted as an element of psychological warfare, then the tactic has no power and it fails.

With psychological warfare, we have to be deceived if we are to fail.

the people who stand to make billions of dollars when the Russian sanctions are lifted, rather than the state apparatus. this is not to say that putin isn't in charge of that mob too, just that they are separate gangs to a great extent, albeit with overlapping actors. And Trump is one of the actors in the big business, energy investment cartel that blurs the lines of nation states, is working in competition against OPEC, and seeks control of the Middle Eastern energy sector. This is where trump and Putin really align, stock in the same industry if not the very same companies.

So, who owns the secret 19% of the Rosneft?

Strange how the White House and Kremlin are saying the same thing. Another coincidence I guess.

There goal was to damage Clinton. 45 in house was a surprising bonus. In their view they got what they wanted and then some.

US credibility has been damaged through out the world (and made a joke to a point). China (a Russian ally) got to see the Trans Pacific Partnership go bye-bye (even though it was probably still a shitty deal...it insures China's dominance in the region).

The US has weaker to no leverage in Ukraine, Syria and Libya. Cross this election with Brexit and influence in the EU is stunted as well.

The Muslim ban and anti-Mexico sentiment no doubt has seriously harmed relations in those areas.

Putin want's a multi-polar world, not one dominated by a superpower, he's succeeded to some extent in that goal. If that's better idea of course is up for debate...but the way he went about it sure was dirty.

Domestically, now it won't be right wing nuts just advocating to get out of the UN, but at the very least to lessen involvement in NATO. 45 put it out there and now people will run with it.

45's election has shown racism here in the US needs to be addressed. And health care is not where it needs to be. Were going to be tied up for awhile on domestic issues and have less focus on foreign.

Damage is already done.

Putin comes one step closer to Poland and the EU when we fail to challenge any of his gang over there or over here.
